$1000 over sticker!?

Charging YOU $500 for parts while it was THEIR mistake!?!?

And they may "work something out" with you over the labor!?!?!?

They should be taking money OFF the price of the car, not ADDING because they have to fix their own mistake. That's like a car coming in with no doors and the dealership charging YOU to put on the doors!!

Brother, if no one here will say it, I will: You are being played for a stinker and getting hosed. Big time. I think you may have a case of G.H.I.N.S. - Gotta Have It Now Syndrome. My advice: Look past your emotions and see how badly you're being screwed here.

Lets not forget tax and title, dealing with idiots, and taking a big loss. :notnice: Make dealer fix the mistake and pay the agreed upon price from the beginningof the purchase agreeement with the IUP included.

Why don't you consider an aftermarket IUP package? I got to tell ya, the one I have looks better then the factory IUP anyways. As long as they are willing to knock off the price of what you paid for it I think that is not a bad option.

As I told you,Car came in without IUP,Dealer said he would install it,but I would have to pay for it with labor. He then called me and angrily told me to make up my mind or he would sell it to someone else.I didn't want it without the IUP so I had to give it up.He refunded my $3,000 deposit I had put on my credit card,so besides losing the vehicle I waited six months for,I lost all the interest I had paid on the card.I'm trying to calm down and get some letters written now.I just knew I woudn't be happy riding around in a car that was not what I wanted it to be.Thanks again for all of your help.

Man that's awful. I hate to hear when people get shafted like that. You should post the dealer's name here. And if it's any consolation, it sounds like you will get a better deal, and better service from a different dealer who isn't such a butt.

3k for a deposit... yikes! Anyway... now you can order an '06

YOU HAVE GOT BE JOKING!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO PISSED OFF!!!

I am really sory my friend. That is such a shame. What was his reaction/answer when you requested for him to take care of their mistake? I would be calling the local press (tv, radio, newspaper) and demand a meeting with the owner and rep. I cant beklive this after 6 months of waiting. Good luck with this whole thing.

Put down $3,000 to get the total down to a manageable sum, sort of talked and rushed into it by the salesman.Impulse= stupidity as I realized later. As I ordered in November he assured me I would have the car in 8 weeks tops.I would sell my other car to pay off the deposit. As the months went by my mistake kept getting more costly.Live and learn!Dealer said when the order left him the IUP was on it,It was not his problem, take the car or take your deposit.Stevens Ford route 112 Patchogue,NY.Anyone got any Ideas on who to send my E-Mails to,who might actually read them? Thanks.

Steve, I'm really sorry that deal didn't work out. I don't recall a Stevens Ford in Patchogue. Was it Patchogue Ford at one time? I grew up in Medford.

I hope this experience doesn't sour you on the Mustang as a product, and that you get an '06 with everything you wanted in the '05. I can only imagine how frustrated you must feel. I'm incredibly fortunate to have gotten an '05; not a day goes by that I don't count my blessings!

Keep your chin up and set your sites on a 2006!

THAT'S JUST PLAIN WRONG AND A BUNCH OF If I ordered a car, waited six months for it to come in only to have it not be what I wanted, then have to deal with a ***** dealer that gives me an attitude??? :nono: If I were you I would file a complaint directly with Ford over the unacceptable treatment you received from this dealer. Then I would politely let them know that you will be contacting the news papers and TV stations in regards to what has taken place. Stand in front of his dealer ship with a sign letting every one know what a jack...... he is and how his company operates.

Now personally I don't like using the "I'm going to the press" threat or any other threat for that matter but some times you have to stand up for what is right. What this dealer did is wrong and some thing should be done. He should have done every thing in his power to make the situation right. He could have tried to get you a car with the options you wanted or taken some money off this car to make up for the IUP screw up. If your that stuck on getting the car configured this way he could have given you a nice discount on an 06. Basically what he did was to say "Screw you, take the car like it is or get out of my face". "I have 6 other people who will buy it if you won't".

Dealers like this don't deserve to be in business and give Ford a bad name which is a shame because not all dealers are like this.

Whatever you decide I wish you good luck!!!

Suggest you contact all the local TV news and paper.
They usually have a consumer advocacy reporter who may run with your issue; especially when it’s rip-off.
I’d also write a factual account to the better business bureau and your State Attorney Generals office as well as Ford district consumer affairs rep.

You might want to check your local laws. Here I know that if any instituion (bank, phone company, cable company, etc) has a deposit in your name, and it is returned to you, they have to pay you interest along with it. This may only be $50 or whatever, but anything to stick it to the dealer that shafted you.

I would try to PM Brad and find out if he can give you any names at Ford who will take your letter seriously. Definitely call Ford Customer Service and register a complaint with them against the dealership and see if you can speak to anyone higher up. Also write an official letter to the Better Business Bureau and register a complaint with them.

Too bad about the order being wrong. Did you look into Sayville Ford before the dealer in Patchogue?

I once ordered an F-150 and it came in with the wrong engine!! Dealer re-ordered and i got my truck. Only bad part was waiting another 6 weeks.

I think the dealer is lying to you. As ISELLFORD mentioned on another thread, my understanding is that if Ford builds it wrong, they stand behind it. They either rebuild it giving it priority, or pay the dealer to correct the mistake if possible at the dealer level.

The fact that the dealer wanted YOU to pay for parts & labor to correct the error makes me think the dealer screwed up and figures he would come out ahead by letting you pass on the car and reselling it to someone else as is for more $$$.

SixtySix is correct, IMHO, a snail-mail letter tends to have more influence than an e-mail. Best of luck to you.
