Got the call from the Dealer, went to check out the Car and no IUP.I ordered on Nov.19th. The car has everything else I ordered, but I just can't see paying for it when it is'nt what I want.Any words of wisdom? I feel like I just got kicked in the stomach! Thanks.

All the IUP items can be obtained by the dealer. Have them agree to replace those components for the agreed upon price. If they do not, the price either needs to go down accordingly or you need to decide how much you want the car. Unfortunately, '05 Mustangs are hot right now, the dealers know it, and can easily make more profit on the car if you walk. Best of luck!

Let us know how it turns out for you.

Eris Said it. I passed up a GT identical to mine that was cancelled by the original buyer. They were going to let me have my A-plan on it. No IUP or ICAP, ICAP not that big a deal to me , but the IUP really adds a touch of class to the cars IMO. Good Luck in what you decide.

If you ordered the car and you ordered IUP and it is shown on your DORA and on the window sticker then it is classified as a misbuilt unit and the dealer can get Ford to pay to install it in your car no matter what it costs. If it is not on the window sticker then chances are it was deleted by the dealer due to commodity issues in which case the dealer is responsible and probably the best you will do is not paying for the option. If it is not on the DORA then I think you are s.o.l.

Well I don't know that I have any other advice than was said above, other than don't let it get away if you really want her! With a GT, if you pass they can more than likely sell her by tomorrow. Just try and work the deal with the dealer to add the IUP parts.

I agree. Unless you plan on making other changes to the interior, I wouldn't do without the IUP. That's what really gives the interior that retro feel. IMHO

Well be glad you got one. Then have the dealer add or deduct cost. It may cost you a little more but you can buy all the pieces, and most of them from our favorite parts person kcstang/ford parts.

Just came from dealer. On DORA not on Window Sticker. He said he would order the parts ,Installing them after.Said he felt bad I waited for so long and I was a nice Guy..Bla bla bla.I got the car $1000 over sticker and told him I know he could get more than that if I dumped the car. He said he would rather see me get the car.Could this be for real?I'm so used to getting ripped off, when a good thing happens I question it.Anyway he said $5oo for the parts, and didn't know how much labor, saying w'ell work something out. Thanks, feeling a little less sick now!

There going to charge you for the labor?? That doesn't seem right to me. It was not your mistake, why should you have to pay anything??

It may be on the DORA he showed you, but I bet it's not on the final DORA that Ford based the build on. They're only going to build the vehicle to the specs of the last DORA submitted to them - have Regional Manager run a trace through Ford's ordering system to get a copy of most recent DORA and when it was changed last; bet you'll find where someone at your dealership submitted a change to drop the IUP.

Good luck either way. At least it sounds like they're trying to do the right thing. Let's hope they do and don't make you pay for any labor.

Before they do anything get the labor $ straight. Their mistake they should eat the labor cost. Otherwise take all the parts and install them yourself or bring it to someone else to install. Good Luck.

Dont pay anymore than you agreed for the car in the first place and make them install and pay for the parts. If he balks at this get the reps phone number and call for yourself. As everyone else said it sounds like the dealer screwed it up and he will probably not want to give you the phone number. You shouldnt have to pay for moronic dealers mistakes. Oh and tell him you want some darn cookies

It's the dealers mistake, let them eat the cost. My suggestion is to pay what you agreed to when ordering.

Can you get the message center as well as the aluminum parts? Or does the message center come with non-IUP cars?

It's kind of gadget-y, and definitely not a necessity, but I love that thing. I'm constantly looking at the avg mpg, avg mph, fuel remaining, etc.

I hate to say it, but I'd consider walking away. 1000 over sticker is certainly no bargain as the price on GTs has come down in the last couple of months. I'm reading many stories of prices at 500 or more under sticker, and tons of stories of sticker price. The dealer is doing you no additional favors by trying to make you eat the cost of their mistake. If you decide to try and work something out with them, get MAD!!! Go in there and really give them a piece of your mind. Make sure other customers are within earshot. You'll be surprised at how accommodating they can get
