Another NJ Stang
Hey everyone,
New to the forum... I've owned many mustangs in my life.
When I was five I grew up in Colorado my neighbors had three boys. Each owned at least two mustangs and they dominated the street racing and organized racing scene where I lived. They were generally 67-69 fastbacks. I occassionally got to ride in them and was bitten by the bug.
When I turned 16 I purchased a '71 Mach 1 from a friend. The car was totaled before I ever got to drive it because I was stupid and let my friend borrow it.
When I turned 17 I purchased a 78 Mustang II which we promptly swapped the engine out and put a 302 in. The state took that one away because I was street racing with it.
I took a break from Mustangs for a couple years then bought a 67 GTA Convertable basket case. I worked with a friend to restore the car and got it to decent driveable shape. I sold it before actually being able to drive that legally on the street.
I got married and purchased a 68 GT coupe a few years later. Started restoring that one and got to the point of replacing the engine when my ex-wife lost her job. The project was sold to my neighbor who finished the restore so we could put food on the table for a couple months.
A week ago I was at the dealership looking to trade my wifes Santa Fe in for something that was safe to drive. Looked at a few F150's and other pickups on the lot. The dealer wanted way too much for the trucks. I jokingly said how about that '06 GT. The dealer said he could work with me on it. Well long story shortened, my wife bought the car for me. She said I deserved it and she always wanted a mustang. Loving life hating payments. Absolutely love the car.

Awesome you got a mustang ! May we see pics? I'm starting mine up to keep the oil going through it. But need money to put it back on the road. Wish I could just put the top down and take off. It's a great fall day today in cape may court house.

Very nice! Congrats on the new car!
Medford Ford, huh? My dad lives in Tabernacle, and I'm a few miles away in Cherry Hill. I actually think I remember seeing that car on the lot...
Are you in the area, or did you travel to pick the car up?

Well I finally made it to the SJMC meeting last night. I joined the club which cost $10 for the year.
I figured it was worth it since they work hard to get free tickets to the auto shows and special access.
I got a few good leads on parts and project cars in the area.
Debating on a 73 vert. with 302... We'll have to see what the government returns to me in a few weeks.
Very cool bunch of people, had a great time riding there with my Neighbors.
