Apparently the codes and pin number for the "track key", are not released by Ford, till they confirm you bought the car with Vin #. I have an appt. at 9AM to get my car programmed, and the first 2 hours are spent getting info from Ford Racing Tech. It's a long complicated process, and I have to submit a collection of answers, before they'll release info on my car? Takes 3-5 hours to finish? When it's done, I can select/change settings via buttons on steering wheel? I can't remember how to turn off voice command??? It's like setting up a wireless network, on a desktop computer. They even have updates if you modify the car, or use it on a track???

Long hot day at Tuttle Click, trying to get programmed for track key. Info has to be mailed by Ford Racing, one week, $425.00. After 100 miles, 18 mpg. Everywhere I go, car gets NOTICED, especially CHP. High school kids LOVE it!

The more I learn about the 2013 Boss 302, the more "impressed" I am. You really don't need any aftermarket parts at all! Especially a hand held programmer, the trackey is far more "sophisticated", than any other program. Want more than 444HP, take out the baffles, drop in a K & N, apply launch control, and jump on 470 HP, and 11.6 quarter mile time. That is impressive, indeed!
For $45.000.00, the most BANG for your BUCK, period!

Porsche, and Chevrolet Corvette, did a lot of "testing" of oil, their primary concern was oil breakdown in extreme heat. They used Willow Springs Raceway, in August, 110-120 degree temps, WOT for hours and hours. Only 2 oils had no engine failures, or measureable wear, Redline, and Mobile 1, both cars use 0-40 Mobil 1, from the factory.

Surprise, surprise, I went to Tuttle Click at 9:30 AM, to reset SYNC, and Ford Racing had overnight shipped my trackey program! Service decided to do both today. I spent an hour with Boss 302 expert, and we downloaded, and enabled trackey programs. What a radical change, steering, idle, acceleration, suspension, everything. It's not a subtle difference, it's dramatic! I love trackey! Tomorrow I'll take it to 6AM carshow, and see the other, Orange County Boss 302 owner and check his car out.

Today, I had the baffles removed, from side pipes. Very nice rumble, and not too loud, till 4000 rpm. Went to "Cars & Coffee", car show, saw 3 Boss 302's, 2012's. Nobody had ever seen a 2013, Gotta Have It Green. Lots and lots of rare exotic cars, more than 500. Had an "informal" race on Alton Pkwy. with M5, no contest. Mileage went down to 17 mpg.

In all the"new car"confusion, I've lost the Boss 302 manual. Can't figure out how to fold rear seats forward, and adjust rear shocks??? There is a lever above each rear seat, but it doesn't release the seat forward. Can't get to shocks from trunk, so I guess I'll have to order new manual?

Found a Ford website: owner.ford.com, downloaded Boss 302 manual, and saw everything about Boss 302, parts, service, performance, and more. Great place to learn about your car.

It seems odd that I get better mileage with the trackey, than with regular key. Today I checked and it was 19 mpg, my first trackey excursion was 22 mpg. Regular key got 16, and 18 mpg. Overall it averages 18 mpg. Excellent mileage for a "Hot Rod". My Mazdaspeed 3, got 16 mpg, and Challenger SRT8 got 14 mpg. Had a strange rattle in back, turned out the flat fix kit was loose in the trunk.

A long run of mountain road, Ortega Highway, 74. Up, down, twist, turn, corkscrew, a true test of handling, braking, accelleration, traction, Boss 302 was near perfect. It's still hard to believe how fast this car goes. Pushing the car in 102 degrees and it never gets hot. This car is a joy to drive fast.

COM, I love your enthusiasm, and I love your car, but as a fellow Boss owner, I am curious where your horsepower numbers are coming from, and this isn't the first time I have been stupified by your numbers We have a GREAT car, don't ruin it's reputation with grand claims that are unsupported. I have seen no other reports of increased horsepower from either the trackey tune, or from removing the side exhaust plates, and have actually seen a study showing a reduction in HP with a K&N drop-in filter, here http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...lter-test.html
I certainly don't want you to feel like I'm being a bully trying to rain on your parade, but a lot of people read these threads for information, so if you are going to make claims that increase your horsepower, please back them up with proof. I agree that we should all do our due diligence before spending hard earned money to upgrade our cars, and you can't be blamed for someone making a bad purchase, but I would just like to see this forum be a source of quality information and keep the tabloid talk out of it... Just my .02 Enjoy your Boss, it speaks for itself... we all know the numbers...

Car & Driver Magazine, got 391 HP, with Trackey and baffles removed. Otherwise, lots of advertising claims. I don't think results from a 2012 GT, are equivalent to a 2013 Boss 302.

Yes, 391 I can agree with. It is your above statements that make me 444 to 470 with a drop-in filter doesn't happen, and additional flow with the baffles removed doesn't either. And Both cars use the same air box and filter.

The horsepower rating, 444, 469, comes from Ford Racing, it's listed on their website. I think thats at the crankshaft? Everybody who tests the car comes up with "different" numbers, there are many variables, including each car is different. I'm guessing average is 390, with 410 HP with Trackey? IMO, it has LOTS of HORSEPOWER, and TORQUE. The list of "faster" cars is very short.

Well, it's time for first "mod", I've listened to all the catback, and axleback systems, in person. Cars and Coffee, is a good place to do that. You can spend $1800.00, on a catback, or $800.00 on a axleback, very pricey! Found my favorite, 2012 GT 500 axleback, $800.00, from Ford Racing, in Detroit. Or, $309.00 from American Muscle. The $309.00 version is "identical", in performance and sound. No drone, quiet at idle, quiet on the freeway, and around town. But, when you hit the gas, it lights up. Deep rumble sound, very nice. Makes the car sound like a big block 427. Gives you 10 H.P. too. LUV that sound!
P.S.: Ford Racing "recomends", the K & N drop In filter with GT 500 axleback mufflers as a "Power Kit", 8-10 H.P.

Got my big box, from Ford Racing, no instructions came with GT500, axleback mufflers, but they were shipped from Ford Racing. About 90 minutes for Tuttle Click to install. Now sounds like a 427, big block. With K & N, gets 26-29, HP. Great value for $500.00. The pictures might show why the GT500 mufflers work. Large diameter, straight thru design, works better than Boss 302 muffler. Gives a lot of torque, too.

Went to "Hooligan" car show, 6:30 am, at Rancho Carillo [wealthy horse people]. About 350 exotic cars, and a very tight, bumpy, narrow, private road to get there. Stopped and took some pics of my car. "Cars & Coffee", put it on with Mazda. Lots of exotic, high dollar cars.
