Not being snide here, (I hope) but you said that "Wawanesa is the best Insurance out there, IMO." If they're haggling over totaling a car in that condition that has a bent frame, in what sense do you consider them "the best?"

My guess is that statement was made before they started being difficult.

Welcome to TMS!

Thank you for testing the safety features - glad you're OK.

47K??? That must have been every option and then some!

No long after taking delivery, I found this beast has unprecedented power from everything I had before - it gets up there mad quick and I had to slowly adjust in learning how to handle her safely and correctly - especially judging acceleration onto on ramps and merging into Interstate traffic.

Well, the final estimate was $35,000 to fix it. PTL, it's TOTALLED. Tomorrow I can buy a new one. Wawanesa is slow and methodical before they total a car, but once it's totalled, they're fast and fair.

I'm glad that everything worked out for you in the end. It's always a pain in more than one way when your car gets totalled. Even when you have had it for a long time. 47K.....that's a lot for a GT Premium. I know the BOSS cars around here have a 16-20K mark up so putting them just under 60K. I think it's pretty rediculous if you ask me. Especially when 10 feet away they have the new 13' RS3 Roush for 51K with 110 more HP and better sounding exhaust. Dealerships......what are they thinking sometimes?

Well, I guess they're right about "Gotta Have It Green". I had to have it! $45,960.00 later, I bought it! I didn't want it, but after I drove it, I HAD TO HAVE IT!!! An astonishing car. The transmission is THE BEST I've ever tried. What a shocking hot rod. I won't need to buy any aftermarket parts at all, none! Stock up on Mobil 1, 0-40 oil, change oil and filter every 5000 miles, [annually], for me, and $500.00 each for tires.

This is "Gotta Have It Green". When I got home last night, I went to Ford website, mine was "last" Boss 302 in California. Guess they didn't make a lot of these. Average dealer "Premium" in Ca., is $10.00.00. Guess my $$45,960.00, was a good price after all. It's got lots of "features", including horsepower "adjustment", when you use higher octane gas, 92 octane yeilds 466 H.P., what if I fill it with Union 76, 100 octane???

IMO, Ford SVT came up with a "WINNER", 12.3 quarter mile/116 MPH, .98 G, 7500 RPM redline, and total "adjustability". BTW, the transmission is WONDERFUL!!!

The green is not my "all time", favorite, but the CAR is!

I want to like that color green, I really do...

Congrats though, nice to see your insurance co pull through. Don't crash this one!

On a side note, I got a Wawanesa quote the other day that was $1200 a year cheaper than our current Progressive premium for our 3 cars. I think I'll get an Allstate and State Farm quote before I pull the trigger.

My 2011 Challenger RT Hemi, had maximum coverage, $500 deductable, and $676/year, probably go to $1500, now.

Found 2 worthwhile MODS for Boss 302:
1:remove 5/8 inch restrictor plates from side pipes [California Boss 302's] $00.00
2:change stock air filter to K & N #33-2431, [increase air flow] $40.00
above give you 6-10 H.P. and improved mileage.
CHEAP THRILLS!
Use Performance Key and you'll like result!

Man I'm glad I have been a USAA insurance customer for over 10 years. I'm paying under 1200 per year for two cars full coverage.

I wonder if the School Bus Yellow in the background is the same one on the Boss...

Did a lot of "research" on 2013 Boss 302. Bone stock, dyno'd at 416 HP, that is very good RWHP on a stock car. 0-60 takes 3.9 seconds, 11.9 second quarter mile, 60-0, in 106 feet.
Guess you can't post an MP3 sound of exhaust clip?
