From 08 Vette to 12 Mustang Gt to 13 Boss
Yeah, I took a bit of a path to get here.
I bought the 2008 Z51-package loaded vette coupe new. It was a kick *** car, sexy and very fast. The GPS was cheesy, the stock tires were not good, and the torque had a tendency to upset the chassis. But is sure was fast and when the tires were hot, it could handle. The front air dam scraped on everything, but it was a solid car. A little rough around the edges, but I liked it. 3 years later and a surprise new kid...
2012 Mustang Gt premium convertible, manual. First things I noticed - it was quiet, interior was obviously generations ahead. The suspension was a little soft. Once I got the Procal tune, the lack of torque was fixed. The GT suspension in the convertible did not instill confidence in the corners for aggressive driving. With the top down and the GT500 mufflers on a summer evening, it was a heavenly cruiser.... It didn't really have the soul I was looking for....
2013 Boss... Grabber Blue, Torsen, Recaros. My dad bought a 70 Boss new in grabber blue back in the day. I started researching GT coupes, my wife said why get the same car.... so I decided to research getting a boss. When I saw the GB in the dealer, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia and excitement.... It handles better than the Vette, but has a back seat. Sounds better then any new car I've ever heard stock. Every single car person who sees it says "bad ***". It is incredibly fun to drive, and the harder you push it, the more rewarding it is.
