Hi everyone,
im new to this forum as I just purchased a used 06 GT manual with 99k miles. I always wanted mustangs growing up by did not have the funds or family support. So it was one of those YOLO moments and the rest as they say is history.

So here's what I experienced this morning: Going to work, stopped at a red light: light turns green and I shift to 1st and the car starts moving forward "like normal" for just a couple feet and the shifter pops back into neutral. Had to pull to the side of road, did the usual check to confirm shifter in neutral and shifted into 1st and drove off. Had not experienced this before.

Question: is this an indication of potential trans problems brewing, any recommendations on what I should do next?

With 99k miles, I would say it's a very strong possibility. If it continues? I would highly recommend having the trans looked at.

 

Or maybe you didnt have it in gear all the way?
