You look in your rear-view mirror to see two people with their hands on your tailgate.
You constantly receive sympathy cards from the Department of Transportation.
When you are walking across the parking lot, you see a priest performing last rights on your car.
While stopped at traffic lights, other motorists offer to help push to get you started again.
You have preferred customer status at Advance Auto Parts.
You have to stop along side the road at least once a day to pick up parts that have fallen off.
You leave your keys in the ignition and a $20 bill on the dash for gas money in hopes that someone will steal your car.
When you drive though town, people stop what they are doing and just start laughing.
People try to hire you to bring your truck to their house to fog for mosquitos.
In place of a spare tire, you find a pair of running shoes.

All too true. But I must have ended up with a good Ford truck. I had a '92 Ranger that finally died with over 218,000 miles. I miss that truck. And I never had to stop to pick up parts that fell off, I did with my Chevy 4x4. The wheel well flew out while going through town.
true on chevy's
I also had a Ranger, mine was '90 with about 250k miles. It didnt die on its own, it was killed.
Reliable truck. Everything stock on it. Only had general mantinence, and regular wear and tear like any vehicle.

Off topic, but I had to mention it...
I worked as a Production Assistant on a movie with some guys that shot a Chevy commercial. For anyone that remembers, it was the one where the trucks were driving around in the mud flinging it everywhere.
The guys said that they BROKE EVERY ONE in that commercial. Some physical appearance damage, some with mechanical demage. The only one to survive the shoot was the one at the end of the commercial. I was great because you could see the cord that they tied the front bumper back on with!
