You've got a valid point. It is expensive. I got the Legend Lime "car show" version of this die cast and I was amazed by the level of craftsmanship that went into this. I know you can get die casts a lot cheaper out there, but I doubt the quality and workmanship are as good. It's one of those, "if you see the value in it, then great" kind of things.
If they don't move off the shelves, the manufacturers may lower their prices, making them more appealing to a broader audience. I wanted to get one the same color as my car. I didn't want to wait because they were a limited edition. So I guess I was willing to pay a little more than most people would!

as soon as they make one in black im all over that. Autoart is one of my favorite diecast brands. i have the redfire carshow version and i would have paid alot more for it then what it did. supurb quality and attention to detail.

don't get me wrong, I love diecast, but what is so special about this one that it is almost 80 bux? I got 2 1:18 scale high-quality boss 302's for 20 bux

Zach, if your friends or family want to chip in and get you a great birthday present, this is it! Drop a hint here or there...
This model still amazes me. It has carpeting in the passenger compartment and in the trunk. Even the sun visors flip down! That's what I call attention to detail. I originally got this die cast thinking it would tide me over until my full-size Mustang order was filled. As it turns out, my Mustang arrived pretty quickly.

BLACK
Anybody know if Autoart has picked the last two colors yet? Or if they actually used the poll we had here?....
And yeah, these stinkers are expensive - but besides the amazing detail and quality, remember they are limited runs. 3000 a piece and that's it. You won't be able to find these in a Toys R Us somewhere a year from now - these will be definite collectibles. AND they are the first collectibles like this for the first year of a newly redesigned Mustang.....

I'd pick one up if they made sonic blue just to have one like my actual gt. My guess is sonic is probably not going to make the cut for a die cast since its appears to be one of the more rare colors as well as only being available in 05
