It is not a sucker punch in the true sense of the term. They were after all both partaking in an organized fight, in the "ring" the bell did ring and the fight was on.

The fact that this stupid SUCKER was more interested in showing off than fighting, and got knocked the F out for his stupidity doesn't make it a "sucker punch".

But it certainly was poetic justice...
