Take a nap. No more than 30 minutes though. You'll feel refreshed and reinvigorated.

As odd as this sounds, I know exactly what you mean. I felt exactly the same way doing the golf cart. I started getting in to it and I couldn't stop. I worked and worked and sweated and worked all hours.

But guess what. I've played 2 rounds of golf in that cart and come in contact with about 2 dozen people while doing it, and every single one of them, every one, has said nice cart, awesome cart, wow! Some guys just stop and stare at it, but in a good way.

Someday the same will happen for you and your bike...if you take your time and do the best you can.

I know. I can't wait to finish it up. My friend is in the process of aquiring a 1968 Triumph Bonneville thats been disassembled, and we're gonna rebuild that too. Once we're done we're gonna cruise and tour all over the place. It'll be easier for him, since his bike has more parts available and its a "better" bike, but I'm enjoying the custom aspect of the Yamaha. Plus.. its gonna match the II

Me too. I noticed once I finished up painting the II, I got very bored and started sitting around doing alot of nothing. I partied a little, but I didn't feel right.

Then Peter needed a bunch of help on his mustang, that kept me going for a while, and once that was done... well.. There was a mangled heap of bike parts in the driveway, so I got to work

When I bought the cart off the guy he said its dirty let me wash it. I looked at him and said "I'm just going to take it home and take it apart anyway. You can't wash it as good as I'm going to wash it." I already knew I wanted to completely disassemble it, study all about it on the internet, find a forum, get hints, and then make it better than any of the stock "new" carts out there for alot less. I've always been that way. It's just now I have bigger toys to do it with.

I shudder to think what I will try and build when the bike is done... that is if I have any time to build anything instead of riding every hour of the day

What's going on with school Arin. Aren't you starting at an art school in auto design soon?

Yup, september 4th is the first day of class. I've got a few weeks of goofin off left

I'm pretty stoked to start at the Academy of Art. Finally "school" and "personal interest" will be at least somewhat the same thing

Yeah. It's always good to do what you love. I know that when you can get paid to do what you love you are truly living high on the hog. I don't get to do what I love all the day, but it does happen and therefore work is all the more bearable for it.

Yeah, its going to be alot of fun. Its also going to be pretty tough. Engineering at the University of Pacific (where I was last year) had a 98% success rate, but Auto design is only 60% chance of getting the top dog positions. I have a better chance at just being on some sort of design team in general, which overall is pretty good odds. I don't think I could lead a project anyway.

I've got my fingers crossed to be on the styling team of some future generation of Mustang though

Arin. You may not feel as though you can lead a project now, but a few years in you'll be chomping at the bit to do it, and I'll bet you'll do well at it. We are very similar except I'm twice as old, but you'll do very well. Just don't sit back and wait for it to come to you, you've got to work for it. And sometimes with a little self made luck, you'll get that chance for the golden ring.

Thanks for the words of inspiration Gary.

You can bet I'm going to be working my tail off when I get to the AoA. In the few art classes I've taken prior to this, I found myself obsessing over perfection in my work, much moreso than for any other classes that I've ever taken. Now throw in car stuff, and its practically guaranteed.

One of the cool things I saw while visiting the university earlier this year was the older student projects. They were working alone or in pairs and each had to design an entire car. Drawings, blueprints, clay models, etc. There were some guys working on a "2010 Chevelle" and even someone who was brainstorming the 2014 Mustang. Nothing official of course, but its exciting to have such realistic projects

I'm really very glad to hear that Arin. I've got 3 nephews that are 26, 23, and 18 respectively. The 26 year old went off to college at a private school and played football without a scholarship and then partied the whole time. He paid for school with student loans for 6 years and never finished and has no hope of finishing. Now he is up to his eyeballs with tens of thousands of dollars in debt, and has never worked a day in his life. Now at 26 he lives at home on the couch with his parents and eats and sleeps and plays World of Warcraft. He won't go get a job because they won't pay him the $25 an hour he wants. He had the nerve to tell me he wants my job because it looks so easy and pays so good. According to him all I do is sit around all day and collect a fat check.

Some people.
