Whats a good vehicle to get my mother?
#1
Ok, I need to get my mother a decent vehicle for around 15K. It needs to be a good safe highway car and be decent in the snow. She doesn’t car about CD players or anything else. I was thinking of a Ford Ranger with an extended cab and 4-wheel drive but they looked to be around 20K. Any suggestions?

Well if she likes trucks then yes a base Ranger would be a great choice. Ford is really throwing some great deals out there. My father just bought a Subaru Forrester for a hair over 15k recently brand new (base model of course) but he was a returning customer. My best advice is to get out there and test drive some vehicles and see what she likes the feel of. Then research their safety and reliability and widdle down the candidates.
I believe ManEHawke's father just bought a brand new Ranger. I think that would be a great get around vehicle for her, especially in the winter months.

Just kidding. Ranger can't be that expensive, maybe that's MSRP but they are selling way below MSRP. Few days ago I bought brand New F-150 Extended Cab 4x4 for only $21,000 (MSRP $29,000), so Ranger and F-150 can't be in a same price range.
