What're you doing?
Personally, I want complete darkness behind the screen. Like a theater. I even avoid screens where the border around the screen is shiny black because it reflects any light behind me and detracts from movie. IMO

On the positive side, it helps reduce eye strain. You can make them as bright or as dim as you would like.
They are Phillips lightstrips; integrated into the lightbulb system I had posted a few pages back. They definitely add a layer of depth to the content on screen(and really to the room as a whole. I need to turn every light on Red in the place and watch 300.

Agree with this. It gets in the way of what's supposed to be the focus.
