Just saw an Artillery Unit in Af show their type of New Year's celebration...
Lobbin artillery rounds on the Taliban!

Annual running of my year end net worth numbers in my monthly spreadsheet over whisky (transactions completed so final settlement is today).
Winners win and losers lose.
We likes da years of da big win!
Let the winners run! Cull the herd and say bye bye to the losers!

Its the challenge between Fed and market momentum, versus the historic mid year election cycle correction - which obamacare probably makes only more sure.

*But I really beat the banks this year... $20k 0% credit cards (3% fee) which allowed my money to stay working in the market. And you know how it went from May/June to Dec.
One of those 80's Reagan era "how to make money in your own business" books - OPM - always use "other people's money" rather than your own when the number$ say you should. Yes I'm looking at a bookshelf full of those books!

I had to make some transactions already to split the tax between years (I have to withdraw some each year for all my insurance premiums, prop taxes, and horse hay*), but since there's momentum I am more inclined to use/tighten the stops and watch rather than take any more profits just yet.

One man's trash (correction) is another man's treasure (opportunity).
A balanced portfolio at our age (that maintains a percentage in cash or individual bonds [never bond funds/etf's because they constantly roll the portfolio and therefore you lose principal in rising rate scenario's]) not only provides some stability, but still allows one to strike when the iron is hot!
