I actually can cover Chris Cornell very well. His range, tone and inflection is right in the wheelhouse for my voice. Gritty, kind of rough around the edges and the diction a bit slurred at times, lol. Of course even back in the day when I sang regularly I could hardly talk for a few days after covering a full set of his songs. When I sing I've got that whiskey soaked, Camel (non-filter) 2 pack a day, drug addled sound. Think Janis Joplin, Gregg Allmann and Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes had a baby.

Great post, Gary. That was haunting and uplifitng at the same time. It's my favorite LC composition, especially John Cale's version.

Hallelujah is arguably one of the most dark but beautiful songs ever written, and it remains one of the most covered songs of all time.
