The Walking Dead

I can't take it. I tried.
And other shows are doing the same thing - milking drama to its nth degree. They're like first year directors. The shows crawl until the next 18 minute batch of ads.
And I have no idea how anyone watches tv any more without a dvr to skip the ads. That includes football.

I read this awhile ago...I'm pretty sure these are the stats:
The highest rated shows on Sunday night are:
#1 The Walking Dead (current episode) 9-10pm
#2 The Talking Dead 10-11pm
#3 The Walking Dead (last weeks episode) 8-9pm
#4 The Walking Dead (current episode repeat) 11pm-12am
Basically, AMC owns Sunday night.
By the way, starting on January 1st there will be a TWD marathon starting with the pilot and Season 1 through Season 5A.
I'm completely caught up but I hope to watch the marathon just to refresh my memory....and watch the character development of Rick, Daryl, and my favorite, Carol.

I agree. If it was 2 or 3 ads per break its wouldn't be a big deal. But five minutes plus per break is crazy to me. That's why Netflix and other none ad based providers are doing so well.

I concur completely. It's getting out of hand. I feel like there's 20 minutes of ads and only 40 minutes of show, minus 'last week on the walking dead' . The ads are almost killing it for me and i find i'm sitting there with remote in hand since the show seems to run for 5, then OMG another batch of ads!

I also agree. And I wish at the very least a TWD season finale was 2 hours long...I'd even settle for 90 minutes.
But this is the most compelling show I've ever seen and I'm hooked. Yes, at times the storyline moves slowly and some episodes might seem like just filler, but every episode has meaning, and in some cases it might not be apparent immediately. There are numerous 'easter eggs' and I try to watch every episode twice. "No Sanctuary", the season premier was TWD's "Die Hard." That had me jumping out of my chair doing fist pumps. Carol stole that episode, and the return of Morgan was icing on the cake. I watched that episode three times.
The writing and character development is outstanding, and those who see this as a show about zombies don't get it.
But I hope the writers don't become complacent. I'm always fearful that Fonzie will show up in a leather jacket and water skis.
For now though, I drink the Kool-Aid.

I agree but I also thought Darryl and Carol might hook up? This show I watched and thought it's good but how can you keep it going? Well they've proved me wrong and have kept it interesting!

Right from the beginning this episode had a wierd, disjointed vibe to it and it made me uneasy until it finally hit me as to what was going on. Then it made sense.
And as usual, more questions than answers. Who/what was responsible for the destruction in Noah's neighborhood? Why were all those walkers cut in half? Who carved the initials in their foreheads?
Originally they were headed to a "safe zone" in Alexandria after Eugene's confession, but now Washington DC is on the radar again. That'll tie in Morgan now since he had found the map which revealed that Rick was alive and headed there. I hope Morgan and the group hook up soon....I love his character.
I caught 30 minutes of "Saul". I just wasn't feeling the love.
p.s. Did anyone catch the silver Mustang ('05 maybe) in the driveway of Noah's neighborhood?

I thought last nights episode was an odd way to start the season. I get killing off a character but to spend so much time on it was a waste of time IMO.
I suffered through Saul and probably won't watch another.
