ugh I got called for jury duty...

I'm 22 almost 23, so it's my first time. Lil nervous, can anyone give my some ideas of what to expect? Thanks. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to drive so far. Hopefully it'll be quick. Just ranting sorry.

Yea, I got summoned for Jury Duty when I was 20 or 21 about 2-3 years ago. I went in when I wasnt supposed to lol... I was supposed to call everyday that week to see if they needed me, so I did. They didnt need me, and it counted as if I did have actual jury duty

If you want to do it, just answer honestly and everything..

If you dont want to do it, tell them you are a heavy alcoholic and you firmly believe in the death penalty.

this is true...my dad was called in a couple years ago and he told them he was a racist even though hes not and they decided he wasn't right for the jury.

hah I forgot to mention the racism card.. they'll boot you out ASAP. Luckily i've never gotten called in, not that I am opposed to doing jury duty, I just have a really busy life and I can't afford to be pulled away.

I am 39 and have NEVER been called for jury duty. I would be glad to do it, but I am fairly opinionated on several topics and would probably be kicked off by one side or the other.

I've only been called once. I was dismissed because I was too "black and white."

Guess I'm in the minority here-I like jury duty. Feels good to be a part of something larger than yourself.

Remember if for some reason you're ever the subject of a Jury trial, everyone there will have the same attitude as the popular one here, and not really care if they get it right or not, just when they can get back to their "real" lives.

Although that is the opinion I usually hear about jury duty, that is not the feeling I got from reading this particular thread. The worst ( if that is what you want to call it ) was someone being busy and someone relating about a relative trying to get out of it. Everyone else said they would do it, and even those two did not say they did not want to.
