I don't think it was deleted. I'd assume it was moved to the secret mod section where all the other crazy threads get moved. I could be wrong though.

 

what about the instigators that got him going?? did they get banned too? if he did they should have. cody had no reason to call him a douche. jokerstars had no reason to flame him out the gate with prejudice stuff. I forget the other guy that slammed him. I don't know silverbull but he'd been here a lot longer than many people.
preferrably they should have all got warnings by pm from mods. not cold cocked and banned.
the site is struggling hard enough since the crash to keep decent conversations going. the 10/11 guys are all wound up and attacking each other. on other threads if you dare go one iota off topic - even though your conversation may still apply indirectly - somebody has a hissy fit. heck its safer on the political threads than the 10/11 threads.
this place has gone to hell - and before the new owners too. too bad. it used to be both informative and fun....

You don't know that no one got a warning though. I think the main problem is the lack of mods to keep things like this under control. Boomer is really the only one I ever see posting in there and I'm sure he has a job, etc that have to come first. I think he clearly came back to start something though with a title of, "guess who's back!!!!!"

 

He was looking for trouble IMHO.

I think there's lots of blame to go around. You both have valid points Nathan and Charlie, but the lack of supervision is taking a toll. Boomer can only do so much.

I took it the other way. That he missed TMS, realized he had made a bit of a fool of himself (even though I can understand his frustration the way so many attacked him - after wrecking his brand new car... like he needed their crap on top of his accident), and so he was breaking the ice to join the discussion group again, and that he had bought a new 11 5.0 instead of fixing the wrecked 10. It could have been a fun and positive thread had a couple of jerks not jumped him. Don't you get set off when people gang up and hound you??
I thought he wanted to be part of the gang again. Not get beat up - by Cody no less on the 2nd post.

Where'd the mods go? Haven't seen sendero and some others lately...

 

I can't speak for how he posted before the 10+ section, but I can say he did nothing but cause trouble. He was either posting topics that didn't belong or insulting someone. I dont blame Cody and the others for what they said. Its not like silverbull was some innocent guy or something. Those guys were just venting from his previous posts. The fiasco of the 2 threads today is a direct result of the posts he's made before.

Posting a thread about scaring old people while drunk. Who does that? Then rear ending someone and getting mad when people criticize him. Dissing the 5.0 and then buying one?

 

Well if Cody's going to act all high and mighty about a family forum (the finger pic was a link - not displayed) then what about all the avatars with ***** hanging out of skimpy bikini's? I've got nothing against Cody at all but that was totally out of bound calling him a douche - is that word really family friendly?
And there was that jerk that said silverbull should have had his license pulled for rear ending someone - as if he's perfect. Many rear end accidents happen and it isn't always the fault of the driver in the rear. We don't know the details. We should have offered our TMS buddy some support. If he was in the wrong, he knows it and doesn't need us chiming in. He's a Mustang brother...
He's not the only one that says the 5.0/6spd/3.73 doesn't 'feel' as fast as the 4.6/5spd/3.73. There's an active thread now...
I saw silverbull be cocky sometimes and that stirred some people up... but I don't remember him acting like a few others that aren't here anymore. eci comes to mind. I don't remember sb acting like eci.

Maybe I'm wrong... regardless, when people pile on... and then carry that on to another thread like you said... it is only natural for the one getting hammered to get hot and bothered and sometimes make an emotional response in the moment.

But if this place is now going to be all dragnet 'nothing but the facts maam', 'stick to the subject exactly', not allowing a wide latitude of opinions & viewpoints & communication styles that elicit ongoing conversation (within bounds of mutual respect), why the hell be here? There's only a million or so other forums to hang out in.

I apologized. And then I stopped viewing the thread once I realized what I had become. I had clicked on his link and became instantly infuriated. I was at work.. then BOOM! middle finger. I'm sorry again. I don't want to ever be "high and mighty"... I just want to support the site leadership in their decision to keep the site safe. I had a momentary laps in judgment. It happens to everyone. I'm sorry if I let anyone down.

And as stated above, this place needs some more moderators. The current ones are not enough. I understand that they have their fair share of problems, as all of us have in our lives, so why not give them a hand with a few other mods. There are a few members here that post here almost everyday and have moderating experience that are more than willing to help maintain this place's integrity. Heck, I'll help too if you don't mind I can't stand trolls. That's why I rarely go to my local forums and mainly post in here.

Not hammering you, just pointing out it wasn't all one-sided by sb. Jokerstars really took it over the edge. I too have been egged on recently by disrespectful slurs, which hit me the wrong way and I responded in kind (which I try not to), and then I got the warning. (my 1st)

The mods are around, but we do not get involved in every thread going. Just 'cos I do not post much does not mean I do not read!

As for rear ends not always being the fault of the driver, I beg to differ. The law even says so here. If you rear end someone, you were driving too close to them, period. Doesn't matter if the person in front of you for no reason, if you hit them, you are at fault for not leaving enough distance between you and them to stop in time. my 2c worth

 

Legally and reality are not always the same. I'm an insurance adjuster and deal w/ this crap daily... seen some goofy stuff that can be unavoidable without Monday Morning QB'ing a situation.

One of the greatest things about TMS is that it's members have always done a good job of self moderating... I hope that's not changing.

 

Certainly not. We only wade in when it is deemed necessary, and as you know, that is not too often.
