It almost seems to me sometimes that Thanksgiving is overlooked and after Halloween it's on to Christmas. It seems that the ever year Christmas decor appears in the stores earlier and earlier and by the time Christmas is here your sick of it, anyway, whats everbody doing, whats your favorite eats, etc.
I'm cookin the turkey this year and my favorite is green bean casserole with lots of French's dried onions on top....oooh yah.......

Doc's on-call from home.
To minimize disruption we're bringing in pre-cooked turkey dinner for us and her father and his girlfriend.

My girlfriend is coming down from Napa for Thanksgiving! :w00t:
My family is making Honey glazed/baked Ham (not real big fans of turkey but we also might have it), smashed potatoes, gravy, cream of corn, and my favorite... Tamales! chicken, beef, pork, and my favotire cheese with peppers

The day after Thanksgiving, me and my girlfriend are planning to go to a Greek restaurant and have some Lamb! mmmm

This year I'm working. In years past I used to put the turkey in 2 ziplock bags, add 1.5 liters of red wine and let it soak for 2 days, turning occasionally. Then it was into the smoker. Man that turkey was moist and delicious!

One year a buddy and I went to a restaurant--he was alone in town and we didn't want to do anything special, and I had rack of lamb. I love that stuff.

Wow, that turkey sounds delicious!

Good to hear good things about lamb, because I'm gonna try it for the first time. It looks delicious in pictures

My parents have a time share in Maui so the fam's all heading up there for the holiday. That way we have to take less time off work to go for the week. I scrounged up enough money for the plane ticket and I'm getting paid tomorrow so hopefully I'll have enough money to have a good time. I'l have more if the folks pick up the tab for the table at a dinner or two. Otherwise between me and the lady I'll burn through the little cash I have pretty quick.

Ok, supposedly my Turkey fryer is coming home...we'll see. Does anyone have a finger lickin good recipe for a good marinade to inject into Tom, I usually just use real butter and garlic, but looking to do something different, I'm open to a little spice too. Let me know.....

I can sympathize, April. We're going to my folks' place, along with my sister and her husband, and an aunt. Mom's a great cook, and we get along with her, Dad and Aunt Fran just fine.

The glitch is that my sister is politically 180 degrees off the rest of us, so I got that goin' for me.....

As for the menu, it's a huge turkey, homemade stuffing, 'taters, gravy, yams, green beans, biscuits, and - if I can get my wife to make it - squash casserole! Followed by fresh punkin pie a la mode, coffee, and snoring......

I am looking forward to Wednesday. We have a thanksgiving celebration at the dealership every year. Al of the employees bring a dish or a side or a dessert. One salesperson smokes a large trukey, one barbeque's one, and the dealership gets a large [very large] ham. The dealer also gives each employee a nice trukey to take home.
we have a literal feast.
