Thank you - Veterans Day

I would like to thank all of our veterans (with us or not) for thier service to our country. If it weren't for thier work and sacrifice, we wouldn't be where we are today.

I encourage all to thank a someone from our military in person today. A simple handshake goes along way.

Appreciation and Respect is what they deserve, respect is what I give and appreciation is what I feel. Thank you!

"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Lt.-Col. John McCrae"

On the lighter side of Veterans Day, I find it strangely ironic that my production manager (a Vietnam vet) has to work today while his bank teller wife gets the day off.

And it's Lest, not Less.

Thank you Veterans. We would have nothing without your service.

And a special remembrance to Canada's veterans too.

Let's not forget all the "DOD Civilian" Veterans that stand "side by side" with the Troops too! Their butts are out there on the line everyday too!

THANKS!

3 x Iraq, 27+ years and still going!

Cool "Our Veterans Day"

Veterans Day: Was a young Seabee that served along side of my great brethren in the 1st Marine Division on "Freedom Hill" in "Nam". So this has always been a bit of a Holy Day of rememberance at our place! Our son who is now the USMC and back home now from flying CH-46E rescue chopper missions in Iraq, called to honor and thank me. This really put a apple in my throat and I could just hardly speak. I too tried to thank him. And then he said "Just doing my part of the job for America Pop"! Then he also thanked me for teaching him all about one's love of America and Old Glory. And about the stories of Americans protecting them both, when he was a very young boy. His being so very humble makes a father pretty proud of his son!

Last night at our Elk's Club. they had a wonderful dinner for all of our veterans, honoring their service to country. Our leader during his thank you speech, called out each branch by name. And then asked those that have served their country to please stand. And then he said. "Without all the generations willing to stand up and fight to protect what we love, surely there would be no America today"! "Thank you All". Ooh Rah!! CalStang

P.S. Just watched the great Ford video of the Marine coming home to his family again!! This truely reminds me of one of our proudest days! When we met our own Marine at the airport on his return home. And the many Americans there who did not know him, but were giving him thanks too!! "RC"
