Tesla Roadster
Realizing some of you probably have MSN as your home page, I may be taking a chance here but.......
This electric car sounds pretty darn impressive all things considered! Link:http://autos.msn.com/as/minishow/art...2&s=Pebble2006

I still can't imagine driving that car- accelerating that fast but no rumble; man that would be pretty neat really. Great for the environment too; this may be the way of the future.

If they can make that car for 40k to 50k, they would be making alot of car companies nervous. Here's an interesting question, if you could buy a Mustang powered the same as the Tesla with the same or similiar power for about $35k base price, would you have bought it instead of the current gas Mustang Gt? I think it would be great. The problem is getting the price down to a reasonable range so most people could afford it. I think most people would be ok with the 250 mile range before a recharge. Leave it to a small company to come up with a great way to help us get away from high gas prices. Of course we all know it will have to have as an option, a sound chip that simulates the sound of a big V8 for special occasions! Thumbs up to the Tesla Roadster!

The problem with elcectric cars is that you cannot take them on roadtrips....if you run your battery down...you have to sit for three hours and let it charge in order to get "full"....but with gas cars....you just take 5 minutes to fill it up, and your off again for another 300 miles....
also...I wonder if you only get full performance on a fully charged battery?....would it do like a flash light, and start to slugg of when the battery strength gets weak??? I know thats what electric golf carts do....they'll still work with weak batteries....they just go really......slow....
