Cool

DEFINITION OF A BBQ: It's the only type of cooking a real man will do.

When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

1) The woman buys the food.
2) The woman makes the salad, vegetables, and dessert.
3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill -- beer in hand.
4) The man places the meat on the grill.
5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.
7) The man takes the meat off the grill and hands it to the woman.
8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.
9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.
10) Everyone praises the man and thanks him for his cooking efforts.
11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off." And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women.

You know I found out that some people consider any cooking on a grill to be BBQ. To me you have to have BBQ sauce involved, otherwise it's just grilling.

I second that, though BBQ sauce is not a mandatory requirement. Rubs are just as good. There's a notable, huge difference between BBQing and grilling....about 8 hours.

I'm ashamed at you, southern_stang_girlee. How can you say you're from the south! :P

1. My wife is a vegetarian and I won't let her pick out the meat.
2. I put the corn and potatoe on the grill myself after getting it ready
3. I marinate or rub the meat myself to my liking [so I know it's done right].
4. I preheat the grill to the right temp for the cut i am grilling.
5. Wife sets the table.
6. I personally watch the cooking process so whatever is cooking gets done to my taste.
7. I take the meat off the grill at the correct moment and place on the table.
8. When done, i put my plate and utensils in the dishwasher.
9. If I am cooking for a large group which i do at tailgating, there are 3-4 people who all have particular jobs, mine is the grilling and meat prep. I take my bbq'ing VERY seriously and have grilled for groups of up to 120 people.

It's always a BBQ if you use charcoal and hickory chips to cook it, gas is grilling,

Put it this way, I do not own a gas grill

1.) My 4 year old makes the Mystery Marinade.
2.) My wife preps the veggies. <3
3.) I fire up the grill and crack the beer.
4.) My wife disappears.
5.) I chase the 4 year old until the grill is hot.
6.) Put the goodies on the grill and instruct the 4 year old to get Daddy another beer.
7.) Chase the 4 year old.
8.) Grab the goodies, another beer, and hollar for the misses, who magically re-appears.

My new grill is gas (I won it for $2) but our old grill is the charcoal special! We also have the George Forman inside grill -- which is good to grill chops.

I agree with Chris, beer has to be included on that list. The true definition of BBQ - another reason to drink beers.

So who really needs a "reason" to drink a cold brew!
