Here are some updated pics of my 58 gallon saltwater fish tank. Right now i've got 2 peppermint shrimp and 2 blue damsel fish in here along with 43lbs of marshall island/Fiji live rock.

the day I got it home.. nothing in it:

40lbs of live sand and 60 gallons of salt water (i have a 20gallon sump in the bottom).

43.5 lbs of live rock. The big rock is a marshall island and the smaller pieces are Fiji rock I got from a guy taking his tank down.

This guy showed up on the rock I got from the other guy.. its an Apstasia(sp?) basically a pest anenome that you dont want in your tank... jason came up with the best analogy for it, its basically saltwater kudzu :P killed him off with a syringe and lemon juice.

Here is the sump/filter system with protein skimmer under the main tank. Its gravity fed and has a 700GPH (gallon per hour, how'd you like that for a fuel pump ) pump that sends water all the way up to the surface of the main tank.

Here is a better pic of the tank with 2 damsels and 2 peppermint shrimp in it.

Here is a close up of the damsel

and here is a peppermint shrimp (their names are fried and scampi)

Nice tank. I got a 50 gal fresh water with one little cat fish in it. My guppies died, think I need to do more water changes.

That is beautiful. I respect the fact that you are willing to put so much work into it. I like the names of your peppermint shrimp

Go for Tetras! Virtually no maintenance.....I have got 15 Cardinals, 10 red spot tetras, 4 shrimps (great for cleaning), 2 Loaches (again, for cleaning) and 3 penguin tetras.

I will try to do some pics as well!

Scot, I wouldn't have the patience for a salt water tank, that is a serious committment!
