I dont have all the stats but for some of you that are curious but havent been following it because you are out of the area, here are some of the latest updates as I just heard them to give you an idea.

over 350000 people evacuated from homes throughout SD County

witch fire-
RSF/Cielo: 2000 acres burned 100+homes loss

76/pumacha: 50 homes loss

these two fires could meet tonight along the 76, Julian being evacuated....4-5000 structures in Julian threatened from this fire.

Harris fire and Witch might meet in the far east county area, 72,000 acres burned in Harris fire. No homes lost in Eastlake, Spring Valley, Bonita, Sunnyside and Jamul, 1500 homes still in direct threat

Rice canyon/Fallbrook: 7500 acres

2 fires on Pendleton: 1300 residents being threatened by first, second is by the amo dump by the rice fire burned about 300 acres so far

backyard and where the fire moved around the house. It's a miracle that the house is still there. Notice the picture of the fire hose left in the street to burn. Firefighters must have stayed there battling the fire trying to save houses as long as humanly possible and then just dropped everything and left. God bless them.

RICE FIRE-
ALL OF FALLBROOK IS UNDER MANDATORY EVACUATION
7500 Acres have burned

Full Containment expected by Oct. 28

One firefighter has been injured.
Over 200 residences have been destroyed, as well as 2 commercial properties, 40 outbuildings, 91 vehicles and 20,000 avocado trees.
40,000 people have been evacuated

WITCH FIRE (Rancho Bernardo, Poway, Ramona, Escondido, Lakeside, Valley Center, Rancho Sante Fe, Julian, Cielo, Crosby, Olivenhein, Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Etc.)-
FIRE IS CURRENTLY THREATENING JULIAN AND PINE HILLS, JULIAN UNDER MANDATORY EVACUATION.
196,420 Acres have burned
1% Contained....referring to 1% of all the areas listed above combined.
12 Firefighters injured, 1500 firefighters assigned to this fire
Currently working east towards Julian. (A couple hours ago was the main threat was still the Lake Hodges area)
On the Julian front firefighters have the fire line 10% contained
In RSF, Cielo, Del Mar areas the fire is contained....residents including those of Encinitas, Olivenhein, and Solona Beach allowed to return home.

POOMACHA FIRE (76, La Jolla Indian Reservation)-
20,000 Acres have burned
0% Contained
10 Firefighters injured, 218 assigned to this fire
50 homes destroyed

HARRIS FIRE-
CURRENTLY THREATENING RANCHO SAN DIEGO AND CHULA VISTA
72,000 Acres Burned
0% Contained
Full Containment expected by Oct. 31
Cost of fighting just this fire so far is $2.1Mil
21 civilians injured, 1 killed
4500 People evacuated more being mandated
200-500 homes burned, 1500 have been threatened
1200 personal fighting this fire

CORONADO VALLEY FIRE (San Marcos)-
No details on the specifics, but earlier today they stated it was 100% contained.
San Marcos/Coronado Valley, San Elijo, Carlsbad residents have been allowed to return home.

2 More fires on Camp Pendleton with no info being currently reported on those. However earlier today 1300 residents were reported having been threatened by first, the second is by the amo dump by the Fallbrook gate near the Rice fire and had burned about 300 acres. Amunitions Rd is now closed to evacuies from the Rice fire.

 

5 freeway closed both directions between basilone and las pulgas, fallbrook evacs need to go to Mira Costa College as evac center

and the EL CAPITAN FIRE that was started last night is now out.

 

We're thinking about all of you out there at this time. It is real scary watching everything on TV. I can't imagine being out there right now. At least we can dodge Tornados here in the Midwest.
