So very sad. What is going on. These were very talented people. The fear is who will be next? Celebrities always die in threes. It's a common phenomena.

Very sad to hear of his passing.

Also very hard to believe that they are 50. Even harder to believe that I'm not that far behind them. Madonna and I even share the same birthday.

Give Folks their Flowers While They are Still Here

One thing is for certain, in fact it's a VERY predictable thing, that you can take to the bank anytime a classic artist leaves us.

1. For the first week there will be an enourmous outpouring of love & admiration

2. Then something scandelous about the deceased artists will become a news story

3. A week later the artist will be relagated once again to obsurity

This week on Friday evening Isaac Hayes was scheduled to perform at the big STAX reunion concert, featuring Isaac Hayes as the headliner along with an all star gathering of classic STAX artists in Philadelphia at the Mann Music Center. I was looking forward to going, it's been anout 1.5 years since I have had a conversation with Isaac Hayes and I was looking forward to catching up with him. And as you know, we were promoting this show here on Soul-Patrol.

Last week at this time I was engaged in conversations with the management of the Mann Music Center trying to help them to figure out why ticket sales were moving so slowly for big STAX reunion concert, featuring Isaac Hayes as the headliner along with an all star gathering of classic STAX artists in Philadelphia at the Mann Music Center. (btw....this show has been cancelled, if you brought a ticket just go back to wherever you made your puchase from before September 6, 2008 and you will get a refund)

At this time LAST WEEK, there was NO LOVE for Isaac Hayes. But this week there is a whole lotta love for him. What a difference a week makes, this week Isaac Hayes had to die in order to get that love.

How much would it be worth to you THIS WEEK to be able to see Isaac Hayes perform LIVE, just one more time?

$20?, $200?, $2000?

Every week for the past 12 years, I get email from folks all over the world asking the same question; "Bob what can I do to help make sure that our classic music continues into the future?" For 12 years my answer has been exactly the same:
