How do I remove the parental controls from the PS2? I'm sick and tired of having to enter the code every time I watch a DVD (it's my dvd player).

I know how to delete the passwords -- mines really simple, but it won't let me into the parental controls menu for some reason. Any one know how to remove it permanently? I don't have my manual anymore...

(and i'm sick and tired of hitting 'x' four times in a row)

Cheers

No I don't have the manual. I can't get into the settings menu either. I found out how to remove the password on the internet, but I'm interested in removing the controls all together.

And I see no need to buy a dvd player for an 11" tv (my laptop has a bigger screen )

Probably need a chip soldered to the thing. Or maybe just this:

"What is the code necessary to unlock the parental control lock on the PS2 DVD player?

Press the select button and input: 7444."

Found that here:
http://www.psextreme.com/features/faq.htm

Or this:

"Change Or Delete Parental Lock
Press Start when prompted to enter the code. Once you get to where you enter the numbers, press Start and you will be asked if you want to delete it. You can also enter another code instead of deleting it. Here is the master password: 7444"

That was found here, but many popups to kill:
http://www.total-cheats.com/ps2/play...-2-system.html

And then this:

"Turn off parental lock
Insert a DVD. When the movie starts, press Select to go to the menu. Find the "Setup" icon and select it. When in the setup menu, press Right(2) to get to the custom setup. Go down to "Parental Control" and press Right to go to "Region", then go down to go to "Level". You can now turn the parental control on or off, and/or change the password.

Change or delete parental lock
Press Start when prompted to enter the code. Once you get to where you enter the numbers, press Start and you will be asked if you want to delete it. You can also enter another code instead of deleting it. The master code is 7444. Enter it, and at the last "4", press Select at the same time. Do this again, and you will eventually get the option to delete the lock. Enter 7444 again to delete the code."

And that was found here, also with popups:
http://www.cheatcc.com/psx2/psx2s.html

And the main search I did was at Google like so:
+"Playstation 2" +DVD +Parental

You can also click this:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=...vd+%2Bparental+

Which should produce the correct result. But I'm no PS2 expert. You didn't say you did that, so there ya go. Google is da bomb, if that worked.

That's what I found. But what they don't tell you is that you need to disable the auto-resume first

I found all of that - i had to find a copy of the manual online first. Thanks though
