Problems with Computer, any help?

I have trouble with my Mouse, it constantly disconnects and connects over and over.
My system is windows 7 64
Logitech mx518 optical mouse-USB

Ive had the mouse for a long time and its worked fine, I tried drivers but no change, I even disassembled the Computer and installed a new Motherboard, Still does it, Anyone have this trouble and found a fix?

you replaced the motherboard to troubleshoot why your mouse is disconnecting? You try a different USB port?

I am assuming this is a corded mouse, alot of them over the years will start to work loose where the cord connects into the mouse itself, therefore causing it to loose connection. A trick ive learned is to just put some super glue on the cord while sort of pushing it back into the mouse. Glueing it in place will help support it and keep it from working its way loose.

Cheapest solution may be to just buy a new mouse.

Also if its wireless, it could be the transmitter in the mouse is going back or the receiving unit that hooks into your USB. Try it on another computer to see if it does the same.

does your mouse have a battery in it? Is it an optical mouse or one with a ball in it?

Its a wired Logitech MX518 mouse,

I tried different USBs, nothing

I tried a different mouse,

I changed the Motherboard for 2 reasons, The mouse issue and my Fiber Optic internet was struck by lighting and it blew the Modem in basement and then shorted out the Ethernet on the Motherboard, for quite some time Ive been useing a PCI Ethernet card and when I would start up the PC it would take forever to get Internet Explorer..

MSI? Oh, you poor poor person...

Had 10 out of 10 go bad in 3 months. It was awful.
Then had several of 10 Acer computers quit... and guess what? MSI mobos in them.

I am therefore DONE with MSI. I can't believe they make money and stick around...

/Must be all the other stuff besides Mobos...
//Gigabyte man. Love 'em.
///Also Intel CPU/Chipsets, and NVIDIA video cards. Stable and Win.
////Oh yeah... never gonna have a wireless keyboard/mouse, because those also have traumatized me over the years...

Intermintent problems are usually caused by poor electrical connections or software which does not service interrupts as they should. It you know your mouse is good, you may want to reinstall the mouse driver.

I agree, I would never use MSI, The new motherboard I installed was given to me, otherwise ASUS would have been my choice, Tomarrow I will purchase a new mouse and see for sure..

I use to build computers for 15 years and only used MSI and ASUS boards. The majority of the systems are still in service running MSI boards. I guess it depends on which ones you get but I have never had an issue with them.

I agree adrenalin, it does depend. There's plenty who swear by MSI mobos, ATI video cards, and AMD CPUs, and also love anything Sony.

And I'm not in any of those camps, and I have dang good reasons. But I'm glad the work for you... kinda like black cars and me, we just don't get along. None of that stuff up there and me get along.

Must be the coffee. No wait... don't drink that stuff...

/30 years in this binis... since H89s!
//You'd think I'd get a clue and do something else.
///well, professionally, probably something like 25 years? Sounds about right...
