Places to visit in San Francisco?
My wife and I are considering visiting San Francisco for her 30th wedding anniversary.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

My friend and I are doing a nightime tour of Alactraz later this week. I'll let you know how that goes.
We're also going to be eating at the Hard Rock cafe.
Make sure you drive, by the way, and check out all these spots in that '08

If I think of anything else I'll be sure to let you know.

The chase passes the famous Safeway supermarket, which is is still in operation The Steve McQueen movie Bullitt was filmed in and around San Francisco in late April 1968. It featured a tremendous amount of on-location filming. Best remembered for the car-chase, the progenitor of all subsequent movie car chases, Bullitt is an excellent film. Below are some photos of places featured in the film as they appeared in 1968, and more recently in July and September of 2002.

I spend quite a bit of time working in the Bay Area, if you want some non-Bullitt locations, I can make some suggestions too.

Be careful where you stay, we were about two blocks from fishermans wharf and my car got jacked from the motel parking lot the first night we were there. Get some underground parking... its worth it.
O, and get your tickets for alcatraz early if youre planning on doing that. They can be hard to come by.

Hey George just kiddin'. I know its her anniversary because my wife has never given me anything on our anniversary.
Went to San Francisco once at a very naive 19. Saw the church where Joe Dimaggio married Marilyn, the wharf with all the sea lions, etc. Saw way too many bearded men in sun dresses.

We are looking at hotels north of Market Street and south of North Point Street. I'd appreciate imput with respect to the quality of the area. TIA.
Fisherman's warf, alcatraz, golden gate bridge, museums down town, see a live show, can go to old San Jose Ford Assembly plant where mustangs were built (it is now a mall so actually not very exciting). San Fran Zoo, Presidio, Farallon Islands, deep sea fishing, Sears Point Raceway, Napa Wineries, baseball game, Sears Fine Food (for pancakes).
These are things that come to mind quickly. If you want more I can provide it.

Well it was about 60 degrees on an August afternoon, a little too cold for a sundress IMO.
I don't know when you're going but in August we would have worn jackets if we had 'em, it was a bit cooler and windy from that Pacific breeze.
