I have a disease!
:P
Nothing life threatening, but it sure hurts from time to time. It's a "common form of growing pains or overuse in early adolescence involves the shinbone and the knee."

I finally visited a doctor after my knee being swollen for two months, hurting when pressure is applied, or moved in the wrong way, and giving out periodically. He determined that this was what I had after only 2 or 3 minutes (), and gave me this nifty little brace to create a "shelf" for my knee cap. Cool thing is, I don't have to stop doing anything, or tone the sports down, I don't even have to wear the brace. It will last for about three more years, but it will go away, and the doctor said in eight years, he had only seen two cases in which surgery was required. I'm just glad my growth plates were not damaged, because I've still got a few more inches before I can get ahold of the rim.

More info.

My brother had that 2 or 3 years ago, but i think it's fine now. One of my friends had it too, seems pretty common.
