One of those days..
Well Saturday I woke up arouns 5AM to get ready to drive down to phoenix. I had to bring my Shelbyinto A dealer in Mesa(167 miles away). The car is getting new stripe, hood scoop and hood pins. Had to get the GF up which is hard to do and aways includes a fight. Got both cars ready and filled with gas and head down to phoenix. I needed the shelby and the five hundred due to the fact shelby/ford will not give me a loan/rental car for the week they have to have the shelby.
We head down and at the top of phoenix we stop and rest alittle at Bell ford and I test drove some new 5.0's and a fiesta! Great cars both!! The 5.0 was great and the little go box moved aswell.
back to the bedness
So we head over to Mesa(like 45 miles still to go). I get the car all dropped off with the shop guys and we head over to The ford dealer where I bought the Five Hundred(10 miles down the road). I get one of my free oil changes(took them like 50 mins) and I test drive a 5.0 vert(amazing once again). The Five Hunred pulls around and my GF demands lunch at In & Out burger(fine). We head over and in the drive through the car starts to surge up to 5,000 rpm and the a/c is blowing in morse code. Grab the food and get to the open part of the parking lot and the car is still doing this. I put it in park and The whole dash died. Everything the tach the read out the sat nav... a few minutes later they all click back on and the car is still having the same problems.
So I say in a very calm way "holy S$#*, we need to get to the dealer!". ALL of the lights on the dash were on and the NAV had a call the deal fault msg. I go to pull out and the 4 way inter section from the parking lot and the car is gutless and only will allow 2,100 rpm. Its a cvt tranny. Well I say screw it because im so calm at this point(im 160 miles from home and both cars are now broken(and the gf is unhappy)). I limp the car on the highway for about 9 miles back the to dealer with the shelby and on the way the car will only do 40 mph or 80 mph. the car is shifting up and down and the lights on the dash and nav unit are taking turns beeping at me. The GF is also taking turns beeping at me.
I get to the dealer and the nice man informs me that the rental place closed 2 hours ago and they can not look at my car until monday afternoon. I talked to a few people and they made some call and got me a rental car. yes you guessed it a blue 2010.....(wait for it) focus! The car my GF hates and now thinks this is al part of my master plan to make her ride ina focus. We(I.) unload the 3 coolers and stuff from the five hundred. I had brought the coolers because I was doing about $500-$600 in food shopping. I then went over to my sisters house in Mesa and she got to have her "what did you do to that nice car speech".
I got back to flagstaff at 1AM and then spent 1 hour unloading the most packed ford focus ever.
I am now in "cant wait to see whats wrong with the cars" mode. they told me they would call monday afternoon.

Wow that sounds like a terrible experience! Sounds like your girlfriend wasn't very supportive considering none of it was your fault or even your intention...
Hope it turns out to be something cheap. Another member on here had some similar problems and it was a loose main harness at the firewall.

so I called the dealer today to check on the shelby.
guess what! shelby only sent the stripe for the back bumper and the hood..... I have copies of all the emials from shelby of america! I will post them here.
Thank you for the photo submission and information. The hood and rear stripes are a warrantable concern based upon the bunching of the hood scoop/stripe and rear stripe.
We have initiated your claim for a hood scoop, hood stripe, rear fascia stripe and lanyards for vehicle 1ZVHT82
Your prior approval code is
The parts will arrive within the next 25 to 30 business days.
When you receive the parts, please review them for damage. If they have been damaged, you have 48 hours to notify us from receipt of the parts.
The hood scoop has been sent to maintain warranty coverage on the Shelby components. This revised part must be installed. Failure to install this part will result in no final approval given for the repair. The hood scoop does need to be shipped back before final approval.
When replacing the hood stripes, we ask that you leave them cure on the vehicle for three days before riveting the new scoop to the hood
When riveting the scoop to the hood, please leave the hood closed in the latched position.
If you do the work in-house, we pay out a maximum of 4.9 hours. If you decide to sublet the work, we will pay up to $ 450.00 and any additional costs would need to be approved by us prior to proceeding with any of the work.
If you sublet the work out, we will need a copy of the sublet faxed to us before final approval can be given. Please feel free to contact us after the work is completed for a final approval code.
For the rest of the stripes, based upon the photos we have received we are unable to authorize the warranty replacement of the stripe due to environmental fallout which is only warrantable for 12/12. In the attached letter your will find that it specifically states the following, "Shelby Automobiles Inc (“Shelby”) warrants specific Shelby supplied and installed performance parts, ONLY, for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first)." The stripes in questions are not a "performance part", they are classified as trim items and are not warrantable for environmental fallout for 3/36.
If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.
Thank you,

Thank you for your email and photo submission. Based on the photos provided we are unable to determine any fading or color difference between the new and existing stripes. Due to the aforementioned findings, we are unable to authorize the replacement of the roof and front fascia stripes on this vehicle.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

I had a somewhat similar problem also caused by a bad alternator. Cars these days go completely crazy whenever there's one tiny electrical issue.

I know when my alternator went out on my F350 it started to shut things down to conserve power. First the A/C went out, then I couldnt open the windows. Then the instrument gauge went out.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the stripes. That's EXACTLY why I painted my stripes on over 4 years ago, and they still look new. I would bag the deal of having them pay for it, and save up for a shop to paint the stripes on!! You'll be happier in the long run!!!
