New game consoles!!! argh!!!
I've been thinking for a while about moving up to a new game console but there is onw huge problem.... which one!!!
My difficulty in the decision lies in the fact that Gran Turismo is my favorite game series of all time and the new PS3 will feature yet another reincarnation of this great game. Problem is, GT and maybe a couple other games like Metal Gear and Resident Evil are the only ones I really enjoy. Other than that I think the XBOX console has offered a much better lineup.... Dead Rising, the new Silent Hill, Doom, Quake, and so on and so on.
I doubt there will ever be hope that GT will make it's way to XBOX since it's made by SCEA and thats a huge bummer.
But another downside is that the least expensive version of the new PS3 (which I have been told by multiple people) isn't even worth consideration and it itself is the same price as the most expensive XBOX 360 system.
So the question is, save and spend $600 for the PS3 down the road with minimal games that interest me or spend $500 on the XBOX 360 with a better selection of games but lose the oppurtunity to play my favorite game?
Thoughts...comments?

May I interject with a new player?
The Nintendo Wii
its only going to be around 200 bucks... they'll have more games on launch than PS3... brand new gameplay... yada yada yada
But since you're not looking at this system...
The 360 is supposed to have a considerable price cut this christmans season, so you could ****** one up for about 400 (they have to survive this holiday season against the launch of the Wii and PS3).
But the PS3 is going to have GT, which is one of the greatest games ever imo. In my opinion, PS3 will have way better game selection than the 360. 360 does not have a memorable cast of games, like the PS3 will.
Personally, if i had to choose between the two, I would go with the PS3.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a great game too.
There are other games out that people rave about I just haven't tried them yet.
I personally like the games on xBox better but my son loves the PS2.

Needs to be more Astony
between the PS3 and the Xbox 360 i'd ahve to say go with PS3.
Maybe there are more games for Xbox now but sony as always had such a strong game lineup. I'm sure there are tons of developers on board to make new games.
But yeah the Wii is the deal of the century! I'm getting one of those.

Lalo, you need to dump that teaching job and work for nintendo.
okay, more importantly, i say go for the PS3, you dont know what else will come out and i can pretty much guarantee there will be more games you like.
ok i cant guarantee it,but ive always been able to count on my PS2 to have great games available for it (though i can no longer count on it to actually... play games lol)

Keep in mind PS3 is not just a game console, though. It will double as a blu-ray player for HD movies. Price a blu-ray player and you'll see that $600 for a PS3 is a pretty good deal.
I know, I know. It's not yet clear whether blu-ray will become the standard or if it will become another betamax. Sony is a lot bigger in the market now and I think the PS3 will be the difference in making blu-ray the next standard.

Other than Gran Turismo, this is the only other game that I will hate not being able to play.

I love all of that Knight stuff.

I predict the sony blu-ray is gonna go the way of the sony UMD.
Buy a console for the games

The Xbox 360 looks interesting.
I do have issue with you having to pay to play online, but the games look amazing.
And the Wii- zelda and Mario keep me loyal to those.
