SHould be a great show. I'd love to go, but ticket price is way to high for me.
I heard on teh radio one of the rumors as to why he hasnt been to Birmingham in so many years. I think it was Tony Curry on 99.5 saying that the last time he was here, it was right after he wrote "Tears In Heaven", he played it and people were talking and stuff during the song. He was so disrespected, that he hasnt come back since..... again this is just a rumor.

Only $43 for the cheap seats, I wanna hear it- I don't have to see it. which is cheap these days- only $7 more than poison who I haven't seen since 1990- those are going for $35 each, and I think they prolly suck now-they don't have slowhands holding power.
I shelled out $60 per to see a VERY crappy Dave Matthews Concert at Oak Mountain a few years back, so to me its like hitting the lotto to have Eric Clapton tix for $43- I thought they would be like $100 each which would price me out.
Its ERIC FRICKING CLAPTON! I have loved him since I was a little girl-my first dog of my own was named Sally after his song, My mom Came withing a crack hair of naming me Layla, My Dad and I used to play poker while listening to him. I own everything he has ever sang. Brians first GOOD guitar was a Fender EC signature because I cried for it for two weeks, finally went to Bailey Bros and sat by it for an hour. My Cell Phone Ringtone is Cocaine....I could go on. Eric Clapton!!
Now I gotta listen to FM more. If I hadn't been too lazy to turn on the Xm yesterday, I wouldn't have known.
Speaking of- I bought the Cream Concert on DVD. It rocks.
Now, If Jimmy Buffett would come here.........

AND I missed the black Crowes 2 weeks ago due to Laziness on my part. I guess paying $45 per ticket to hear the one song I love would have been dumb anyhow.
Oh and I need Five Grand for the EC Martin Acoustic that just came out.

Yeah the buffett show a few weeks back sold out in like 2 hours. I couldnt get online quick enough. Tickets were going for $300 for 2 lawn seats, and $700+ for anywhere within 50 rows of the stage.

I heard Buffett was a hellova show though, If I had the $$ I woulda been there. I have seen Eric Clapton On DVD live, and if its half as impressive in person..........WOW!
Jimmy Buffett will be At Jones Beach on Long Island next month, If I didn't have a self imposed ban in place on Going back to NY to keep me from going ballistic on someone(long story) I would begin begging to be there.
Just please, No Journeyman Stuff except for Running on Faith. Everything else sucks on that CD. Even Bad love -which Fender uses to sell the EC signature.
Nothing good EVER comes to Birmingham, this is a REAL treat!

I saw clapton a couple years ago here in Omaha, didn't have trucks but bramhall was there, as was Billy Preston on keyboards. Robert Randolph opened up and overall was a really good show.

I saw Clapton a few years ago in Milwaukee. The sound sucked, but that wasn't his fault. The show was still awesome though. I also saw Buffett that same year outside of Milwaukee(outdoor venue). The show was pretty good, but the parking lot was even better. The Parrot Heads were fantastic. There were tiki bars all over the place and someone even had a pirate ship set up as a bar. Enjoy Clapton.
