Chris, I hate to say this, but you look 12 in that pic... I have a 12 yr old, I can say that!!!!
I had my daughter when I was twenty-three, and its perfect timing. Mine is now moving into teenhood, and I am young enough to remember what it was like, young enough to be a cool mom.
We spoil mine rotten, well, her dads do. She has her bio dad, and her step dad. We always joke and say she has two pinkys, so she needed two dads, LOL The dads get along great, in another life they would have been good friends. All she has to do is bat her eyes though, and she gets exactly what she wants. Its great though, cuz she doesnt have any interest in boys yet, and we dont think she will for a long time. Its hard to find a guy that will treat her as well as her dads do!
If you do it right, you can spoil them and they still grow up appreciative and grateful, as well as understand the value of things. (not just materialistic either)
I am long winded today, forgive me. My daughter was just realsed from the hospital, and I am waxing philisophical.

Yes i do look young for my age, its a double edge sword. I don't really get proper respect in my job as manager of my store cause people think i look like a kid but i think i will appreciate it when i'm 40 yrs old and still look young.
Thanks for the insightful story Jessica.
I probabaly will never spoil her as much as your husbands, i really beleive in having her work for things she wants like a car when she turns 16(or 18 if the law changes).

You raise your daughter exactly how you want. She will turn out great. Its obvious from the pictures that she is happy and well cared for, so, hats off to you!
Its my belief that as long as she respects people, has real empathy and respect for other humans, and brings home good grades, I will buy her anything I can afford. My husband grew up very wealthy, and had everything handed to him. Even so, at 16 he was accepted into Anapolis with a 4.5 GPA. He has the most incredible work ethic I have ever seen, and truly cares about his fellow beings. It is possible to "spoil" and end up with an adult who knows the value of hard work, and wants to be a productive caring member of society. I worked a part time job, and paid my grandfather back for the car he bought me. Yet, while my husband was spoiled, and I was raised very strict, we both have the same work ethic, and life values. It all depends on how each is presented to the child.
I do have to warn you, nothing prepares you for pre-adolescents!!! Goddess, I wish I could get my hands on some Valium, or Xanax!
