What if it was an LS1? Would that have been OK?
Sometimes myopic brand loyalty is severely misplaced. Lighten up, and learn to appreciate quality components -- no matter who makes them.

It isn't a question of quality components. It's a question of proper application and combination of those components.
Just like I wouldn't want to see a Chevy 350 dropped into a 240Z as has been done numerous times. You just don't do that to a classic.
Someone put a copperhead V10 into an old cuda. Yeah, it hauled, yeah it looked wicked, but I thought it was the defacement of a classic, and it was all Mopar parts.

^ I certainly understand the "purity" of not having any sort of engine swap, even though I don't quite share the sentiment in all cases (I thought the V10 'Cuda was great as long as it wasn't an original 'Cuda to begine with). But, you honestly didn't expect any sort of purity from an FnF movie, did you?
I am just more upset they put a classic Mustang in there in the first place. But, in doing so, it makes sense to take the obsurdity one step further with an RB26. And those who were saying it is an abomination simply because it is Japanese (at least that is the impression I got), should be a little more open minded. That is all I was trying to say.

I think the classic Mustang is supposed to draw some of the Gone in 60 Seconds crowd... But I truly don't see the point of using that engine and exhaust on that car. And I like the older Supra's a lot... it's just out of place.
Did anyone go through the thread in the 1st link? Did you notice the guy with the Eclipse that had a 5" pipe all the way back claiming he didn't have a "fart can"... that was some funny stuff. a 5" pipe on an Eclipse is one of those "Out of place" things, like the Supra engine in the Mustang.

Oh, right... Skyline, Supra... Japanese "super cars" either way. Replace "Supra" in my post with "Skyline" and it still holds true... For the most part.
