prayers go out to the families that have lost their homes to the storms that came thru Midwest region. Illinois valley received almost 9 inches of rain. Illinois river has taken out several small neighborhoods

Same here - thoughts and prayers to those families, and to my fellow Hooisers. Areas north of Indy received 5 inches, and that caused quite a bit of flooding.

 

I'm from the north burbs, but for work at the moment in the same town as starve rock state park.
There's a **** few towns away up the Illinois river, the 5 barges crashed into the **** and 2 sunk, 3 in process of sinking. Worried about **** giving out. Would devastate the surrounding towns.

I feel bad for the families, but you think it is common sense, I'd you build next to the river, expect the chance of a possibility of a flood
