Microsoft Zune
I have a Zune but have never had an ipod. The Zune is great for me, but it's the ipod that has all the accessories available.
I'm not sure how itunes works, but the at the Zune website, you can buy a subscription for $15 a month and pretty much download all the music you want. As long as you pay your subscription, your music keeps playing. I have over 5,000 songs and 1,100 podcasts on it right now and it's used 33.97GB and still have 40.4GB free on the 80 gig version!
I think battery life claims to be about 30 hours. I let it run non-stop once and I think I got something like 24 hours.
Video on it looks great too. I can copy shows from my Media Center to it, and can even convert a DVD movie to play on it.
Headphones claim to be 'premium', but I find they don't stay in my ears easily, and sound a bit too much treble. No adjustments for bass and treble either.
Overall, I'm happy with it and would recommend it.
