If you are thinking about a mortgage read this first!!!

Many of you know my situation as of late with Countrywide Home Loans but I thought this is an interesting read for any of you thinking about using them as a mortgager. DON'T DO IT:

Spread the word if you can, for nothing hurts them worse than the truth itself.

My mortgage was sold to Countrywide almost 2 years ago. Haven't had any problems. After reading some of those letters makes me wonder what the future holds in dealing with them.

Sounds like a lot of shady stuff going on. Glad I don't have to deal with any of that. One of the perks of having a home loan through the USDA. It sucked in the beginning, as you can imagine the paperwork and hassle of dealing with the government...but it is paying off now.

I've never used Countrywide, but I went with Coldwell Banker Mortgage this year and it was a very pleasant experience.

We've had our mortgage through Countrywide for some time and I can tell you it makes me nervous with all of the stuff going on. We're locked in but I still am paying close attention to all of the stuff going on. They send us refinancing & home equity loan info all the time, why would I want to refinance when I'm locked into a good rate? and besides, my wife called on the home equity loan and the process was a joke. We're current customers not new ones! It was easier to go to our local bank for a home equity.

Be very wary and watch your mortgage at all times with them. I'm not saying jump ship and refinance with another company, just be on top of them at all times.

Once things start going downhill it is nearly impossible to get hold of someone and the situation just snowballs out of control.

Oh and by the way, here's the monster behind the mess....
