I guess being deployed to Baghdad has its priviledges.
I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to play Guitar Hero with Jeff Gordon yesterday!

Due to my job here, I work right next to the USO, and yesterday one of the guys working over there came in looking for folks that wanted to play Guitar Hero with Jeff Gordon. After figuring out he wasn't trying to play a joke on us, I went over, and sure enough, they had XBox and Skype up and we were able to see each other while we played against each other. There was a problem getting the XBox's to talk to each other, so we basically just created a playlist and played the same songs at the same time, but it was still pretty freaking amazing to sit there on the drums and play against Jeff Gordon! After we played 3 songs together, Jeff came up to the webcam and we chatted for a quick minute, he gave us the 'stay safe over there, we appreciate what you do over there, without you we couldn't do what we do, get home soon/safe' bit.

We could see a bunch of guys with big video cameras taking shots of the guys on stage, I'm not sure if they'll use any of the footage during Sunday's race, but if they do, the AF SSgt playing drums is none other than yours truly. (Don't break my ***** on my drumming skills, I play expert on Rock Band, but this was my first time playing on the GH drums. ) I also had my own video camera set up to take video from our end, not yet sure how much I actually captured though.

Overall, cool experience, cool guy, and we really appreciated him taking the time to get on some Guitar Hero with us!
