Congrats! I love being a daddy, I hope you will too!
Oh, and don't believe that malarkey about having to get rid of your stang some people will shovel at you. Remember, you have child safety seat anchors in the back, and 5 star front and side impact ratings! Mustangs rule! Oh yeah, but that whole child seat facing backwards thing in a mustang...not so much. Trust me here.
Good luck!

congrats- everything changes when the kids arrive- I honestly cant remember life before kids anymore
as for mustangs and kids, theyre a bit snug for sure, but ok- the car seat thing is a issue when theyre rear facing, we had a chicco stroller/carseat/base that made popping the seat out a one handed deal- highly recommended, and hope the passenger seat is occupied by someone relatively short
I actually put a three point harness on the rear hump of mine for 'just in case' I had to take all 3 boys and the wife somewhere, my middle son is kinda small(three open hearts before 3 months old- always been kinda small) and still (he is 13 now) likes to sit there, as he can see out better. when son #4 came along 3 years ago, not enough seats again...not enough mustangs was the kinda goofy solution, but it works. that chicco carseat was awesome- we had a base in the wifes mustang and one for the truck, just buckle the little guy in and drop the seat in the backseat base, one handed even for the wife the rear facing clearance means the seat needs scooted forward- but the wifes only 5-1, so no problem in her car...I could drive my stick with it behind me, but a little forward from normal...im 5-8, someone taller would have a hard time- the chicco seat was one of the best rated and smallest we saw, worked real nice...
we went to the dragstrip tonight for test and tune, our now 3 year old rode in his booster with mom and loved it. I missed second again(OUCH!) for the first time since changing to royal purple, didnt seem to damage anything(compared to last time), but think with my synchros that powershifting is out till the tranny gets fixed...the r-p helped tremendously, but its still a bit iffy at 6k...
we each ran a half dozen runs, kids had a ball...was a great night, especially after the last few weeks...wife had a stent put in 2 weeks ago, only 2 years after a double bypass(at 36), radiation treatment for lymphoma 12 yrs ago has really taken a toll on her heart...but docs say everythings fine, no restrictions, but still, scary stuff again...was great just getting out, everyone having some fun on a beautiful day
boy do i get off track easily- again, congratulations, and check out those one handed chicco seats at babies-r-us when you get a chance- theyre kinda expensive, but safe, simple and about as mustang friendly as youll find IMO I cant remember the model we had, but it was orange and the stroller had double wheels at all 4 corners. if we still had it I'd send it to you, but we already gave it away...
