I work 40+ hours a week, try to keep it at 40, but company I work for laid off too many people and am forced to work more hours and extra days.

Exactly like Ford, cut back on employees and plants too much, now can't keep up and have more downtime because not enough people for the work, now they have MANDATORY overtime.
It's more beneficial for a company to try to get workers working 12hrs shifts then to retire. But the OT pay must be killing them

When do you have free time to stare at them when you're working that much?

40 hrs per week. Usually have off Monday's and Friday's. I'm not allowed to get overtime unless it's approved first. But I'm up for a promotion in march then I'll be salary

Well its like having a new car each time you do get to drive it. Low milage, and the fun is always there.

Currently 42-44 hours a weeek....
prior to that 40 hrs/wk(day) at BMW 5days+28hrs/wk(night) at LAX on the ramp as a loader -- no days off 7 days a week. But that had to stop... i ran outta gas after 3yrs of that.

Current commute is 13 min and 5miles total.. dont have many miles on the Stang yet... will be putting 700 or so Friday, going to see the out-laws in Las Vegas

All of my work is out of town on projects, which is always a 6-10 arrangement. I'm on the road alot (28 nights in my bed in '10), but when I'm home all I need to do is answer my phone and my email. I'm on salary, but the projects have 'field hours' built in to cover the extra time - as long as the project goes off on schedule. Due to some office screw ups (projects went long) I put in a shade over $12K worth of hours I didn't get paid for in '11. One other benefit is I get to take the car if it's a long project, and the company pays for my gas.

Between the firehouse, my per diem part time jobs and my detailing venture, I have worked an average of 60 to 90+ hours a week for the last 31 years.

When I first got on the FD and started working part time per diem, we were trying to save enough money to put a down payment on the American Dream... now I continue to do it to maintain the lifestyle to which I have become accustomed!

Yep! It's a vicious circle. Nature abhors a vacuum and Mustang mods abhor a balance in your bank account.
