$429,000

Now

To get the same house somewhat I live in now in Florida:$309,000

This is a house for the same price in Calera:
April,
That $200,000 will get you a single wide short mobile home 5 minutes (slow walk) from the Atlantic in St Augustine. I almost drove off the road when I saw that.

$200,000 won't get you a box to sleep in under an overpass in on Long Island The suckiest house on my father in laws road in Bayport NY sold for 600K and it was a brady bunch split level not in very good condition. My father in laws annual taxes are more than I pay for my mortgage in a year. Not that his house is not spectacular (except for the slate entryway) and I wouldn't love to live in it.
There are two roads in Bayport/bluepoint- Gilette and middle road, Good Lord, I love the houses, but I think the cheapest one is like 2 million. Then again, they have no summer to speak of there, and it snows all the time. Ellabee and Ralph do not like salt.

I am not buying another house, I am leasing from now on. Buying sucked. I am leasing a condo with a gym, pool and within walking distance to Universal Studios.
I spent a year making my yard a showplace(Four cool trees, a pear tree,3 flower gardens, I trained two jasmines to climb my columns, put in a fountain, had monster cool bushes, you name it) and turns out the yard of the month is a big kissass contest I wasn't in the running to get EVER. The only good thing in this neighborhood is the freaking monster pool-which costs $300 a year to use.

Hi April, from the looks of it i am guessing the brick and tan is the one that has been on the market. some buyers will look at a mls number and know that a home has been on the market a while. #282980. the one you are showing has #314737 for just over $200,000, and both are competing with new #316333 for under $200,000 with what seem sto be an additional bath? (btw i am obsessed with real estate)

314737 is on Real estate agent #3. Its a fuglidious house. Its across and one over from me. It sold new for $178,000. Thats the one thats nasty and smells like dog pee. It also has NO carpet in it. 100% hardwood. PLUS the backyard is NOT sodded, its dirt and weeds.

302842 is a freaking cool house- with a full bath in the attic bonus room, but the downstairs is cramped and doesnt flow well-plus no cool ceilings- its 2 down from us. It will sell soon, I'm sure. The lot is also whopsided-higher on one side than the other.

316333 is the next road over- AKA hell road, because its in a hole and there is a drainage problem on it(our yards drain into theirs when it rains and the soil doesn't drain well). It will be for sale forever just like the 2 in my backyard that have sat empty since October of 05. Most houses on that road are on the market again or never have sold.

My house is a 4 Br 3 bath.We took it off the market precisely because we didn't want the MLS # to age on the market during the holidays(that and we wanted Christmas without the whole world knowing we had presents under the tree-that and the whole dumb world knows the waterford key lock code). My agent told me to list it at $199,900 because that would come in on the MLS as houses under 200K. Bascially, that is covering her 5% and my payoff. My house is the only one with this floorplan like this, all the others have low ceilings, and no bathroom in the hallway-its a hall closet instead, and no others have marble backsplashes in the kitchen with tile in the kitchen baths and mudroom and with hardwood dining room. So I have some high hopes.

BASICALLY I JUST GOTTA GET TO FLORIDA!!!

I swear to you this:
My daughter lost a necklace. 5 of us tore the house apart hunting it.
We said a prayer to Saint Anthony- and she found it 2 seconds later.

I also asked him to bring me the lost snow and it snowed just in time for Christmas Dinner.
Freaky!

Joe is going in the ground very soon!

OK, you guys DO understand that expecting a plasticine statue of a mythological deity to help sell your home is just superstitious nonsense, right?

Look on the bottom of the statue: I bet it says, "Made in China".

Well the house is on the market and St. Joseph is in the ground.
Going by that we should have an offer by January 8th.

Moving is an adventure, but I have been in Alabama longer than I have ever lived anywhere so leaving here and my family kind of sucks.

On the bright side though:
Beaches,Theme parks.....NO STATE TAX!
