I always wondered how they did that.
I lived in Chicago in 1992, it snowed 18 inches that St. Pats day.
I get to pack on St. Pats day for my trip to the great froze north.

Being the Irish lad that I am I will be looking forward to it this year. My oldest brother was born on St. Patricks day so it's a double drinking day for him.

Happy Ides of March:
The soothsayer's warning to Julius Caesar, "Beware the Ides of March," has forever imbued that date with a sense of foreboding. But in Roman times the expression "Ides of March" did not necessarily evoke a dark mood—it was simply the standard way of saying "March 15." Surely such a fanciful expression must signify something more than merely another day of the year? Not so. Even in Shakespeare's time, sixteen centuries later, audiences attending his play Julius Caesar wouldn't have blinked twice upon hearing the date called the Ides

Being of Irish blood(not full) and having a few years worth of St Patrick's days under my belt, I think I will celebrate at home with a couple of pints of Beamish Stout. Ah, to be young and stupid again.
ps. I am really only 37 yrs old. Not too old to do it, just old enough to know how bad it would be the next day. Cheers all!

I am full blooded Irish, however I dont celebrate.
The story of St Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland is actually a celebration of the Pagans being driven out. Its basically the Pagan version of the Holocaust.
I have a regular beer in honor of all my ancestors thats died during this time.
BĂ* fĂ*or duit fĂ©in
