It's a free site... what can you do? But those who pay really have a legitimate beef. Should have, could have, would have... but there should be a mechanism in place to ensure recovery of lost data. This isn't the first time that data was lost on this site.

If everyone here starts a new thread with good technical value, then we'll be back in good shape in no time. If everyone here starts TWO new threads with good technical value in different areas of the forum, we'll really be in good shape!!
Look how quickly this thread is growing...

we should just start a thread for post counts! hmm wonder if that clown known as "theinsider" is at the center of this attack.........
this sucks for all the new members to the forums who got there account deleted. i on the other am lucky that i have been around here for a few years with alot of you guys so we really are lucky we didnt have to worry about that.

Put yourself in the mind of a car forum hacker for a second.
You're mad you don't have a car.
Your mother is starting to not take the crust off of your pbj sandwich.
You haven't had a girlfriend ever since your father found her deflated under your bed.
Your world of warcraft account got banned again.
what else would you do?

[quote=Arrow;5728780]Uh...calling them names and all is what they feed off of, guys. The hacker's probably paging through the forum just laughing his butt off at how spun up you all are. Not that I don't agree with the comments, but all you're doing is handing him another beer and saying thanks.[quote]
With that in mind, I'm mentally giving the hacker all the ambivalence that I can muster.
I still feel Brad et al's pain, though. It sucks having your work undone by some clown.

I lost my account too. Glad that my car had no mods or anything! lol. It's simply a sad state of affairs, but with the way this forum operates I agree with what others said... the posts will be back up in no time.

worst case if you lost some posts- give it a month or so, but you can go to http://www.archive.org/web/web.php and the old stuff should pop up- a lot of it anyhow...problem is its kinda messy and links dont work of course...AOL dumped their homepages a year or so ago, but I found my old pages in there a few months later...guess its a webcrawlerthat archives like everything 24/7, and stores them- kinda weird, must take a boatload of storage...scary that all stuff on the web can sometimes endure everything...
heres the latest tms page listed-from february...
