This line is absolutely genuinely freakin' hilarious! I think I laughed much more at this than I should.

Now, how many posts did I lose?

The local Mustang forum here gets hacked a lot too. Makes you wonder how secure vBulletin really is??

It's a free site... what can you do? But those who pay really have a legitimate beef. Should have, could have, would have... but there should be a mechanism in place to ensure recovery of lost data. This isn't the first time that data was lost on this site.

If everyone here starts a new thread with good technical value, then we'll be back in good shape in no time. If everyone here starts TWO new threads with good technical value in different areas of the forum, we'll really be in good shape!!

Look how quickly this thread is growing...

yes i was thinking the same thing, just do a google search with your user name and a term that you had something to do with that was good or interesting infor, or whatever, then make a new post of it! like this

http://www.google.com/search?q=2005g...hl=en&filter=0

take the info from the cashed page and back in business

I lost my notch thread. I don't think I'll ever be able to recreate all that unless I can find it in google somewhere!

It happens everywhere .. I'm a member of several boating forums too and they almost all get hacked .. hackers have no lives, so why no disrupt the ones that do.

[quote=Arrow;5728780]Uh...calling them names and all is what they feed off of, guys. The hacker's probably paging through the forum just laughing his butt off at how spun up you all are. Not that I don't agree with the comments, but all you're doing is handing him another beer and saying thanks.[quote]
With that in mind, I'm mentally giving the hacker all the ambivalence that I can muster.
I still feel Brad et al's pain, though. It sucks having your work undone by some clown.

I lost my account too. Glad that my car had no mods or anything! lol. It's simply a sad state of affairs, but with the way this forum operates I agree with what others said... the posts will be back up in no time.

worst case if you lost some posts- give it a month or so, but you can go to http://www.archive.org/web/web.php and the old stuff should pop up- a lot of it anyhow...problem is its kinda messy and links dont work of course...AOL dumped their homepages a year or so ago, but I found my old pages in there a few months later...guess its a webcrawlerthat archives like everything 24/7, and stores them- kinda weird, must take a boatload of storage...scary that all stuff on the web can sometimes endure everything...

heres the latest tms page listed-from february...
