I am off the bass.
When I picked up the Fender Saturday and didn't even have the excitement to learn a Chord I knew I didn't need to sink cash into a bass.
I do however have some guitars to add to my list.
Anyone wanna let me borrow $45k for a SRV #1 replica? http://www.stevieray.com/srv-strat.htm
This is also on my list:

Ok Ed;
Steer clear of Squier- because I hate squiers. A nice starter electric is a standard Fender Strat. Not too expensive, and without the stigma of being a cheap brand. You can get a nice starter setup for under $500.Barring that- for $200 you can get a POS First act with amp from Walmart.
My Hubby bought a Gutar from(gasp) walmart. Learned some chords, got decent on it. Went to the guitar gallery and we bought our first decent one- a washburn Dimebolt. It was a heavy metal guitar- NOT what he was playing, plus it had a bolt on neck- PITA when you needed a string change.
We went out to buy a strat. Wanted an american came home with a Eric Clapton Signature.
Then it went downhill from there-
We quickly aquired a Dean Tradition Acoustic(blueburst), A Fender DG11 Acoustic(black), A Fender DG22 12 string(black).
For Christmas last year I bought him an Agave Blue Fender Telecaster.AND he bought himself a red BC Rich Warlock. Which we promptly customized with a coffin case and skull *****.
The bug has hit:
NOW all the guitars on our list are insane:
A SRV Strat
A Gretsch Nashville Special
A Charvel Eddie Van Halen Model
A Fender Mustang
ESP Truckster
ESP KH- 602....
A Martin Acoustic
No more guitars we can save for a week or two and run out to buy. I promised- NO bass until I can learn Chords on the Clapton. I got to E and quit because it hurt my fingers. One freaking chord I can play.
And Nothing else matters by Metallica because it doesn't involve chords, just playing strings in order.

Hey April I didn't see any Crystal ball here ? but I did see that someone played a Yellow Mustang kidding I'll end up searching the whole thing out for a month or so to see what to get a 10 yr old , I suppose letting him see Tommy Chong do his thing with the wrench on the stings got the best of his curiosity. Thanks Ed I think an emoticon holding a cuitar would ROCK
