Got the motorcycle out yesterday for a few hours!
February 28th, out riding on a brisk 58 degree day, a friend and I went for a ride from 4 till 9ish, all over the state. Anyone else go out riding early this season?
(could of used high sock....)

Full bolt on 1000, and not TOO bad, I had a thermal, under armour, chest protector and my jacket with the liner in. But it was TOO nice not to go out for a bit.
80s I would be in heaven, I dont like riding much when its REAL hot out.

Haven't gotten mine out yet but I'm prepping it.
Battery is charged & ready to go.
Put some new turn signals on the other day.
Also, have some new front brakes ready to put on.
Gotta get my oil & filter for my annual Spring change too.

VERY, I can pull this nose off the ground..at will in the first 4 gears. Last year I was only 21 and only had a few year riding street bikes so I took it slow, bought the bike this way and stepping up from a basic GSXR 600, this bike is a ANIMAL. But even if I'm 22 I know I'm not indestructible, I take it easy most of the time.

I'm not worried about my own riding abilities, the thing I'm the most worried about is the complete morons on the road that dont pay attetion to anythhing but themselves.

those people are what caused my Mustang to be totalled last Valentine's day. A complete lack of someone paying attention. Had I been on a bike, I'd have been in rough shape.
Think when I buy one I'll stick to less populated areas and the mountains.

Yep, where deer and other idiot animals can leap out at you, on purpose, because they're ruttin' or such.
Or the above mentioned nuts behind steering wheels.
[soapbox]
Folks, it doesn't matter where you ride (or drive, for that matter, this applies to driving a car for the most part as well.) It matters that you wear the gear, and be on alert (I'd say 'or' instead of 'and', but I just can't really.) Practice proactive driving/riding, and watch out for everything, front, side and back. Include "watching" yourself, because YOU are a significant part of the equation of surviving the ride. If you're too tired, distracted, whatever, you probably don't need to be on the thing.
ATGATT, TCLOCS, and BOWTR. Best friends of the motorcyclist.
What's BOWTR? Be One With The Ride. My own lil' contribution to the list. Means RIDE THE RIDE and don't get all distracted by stupid things such as fancy farkle you just put on, or that hot chick that you're passin' by, or such like that. Ride your ride, and ride it right and well, and DON'T BE STUPID. I.e., Be One With The Ride, meaning the performance of driving your motorcycle right.
Also means, if you get a new bike, go ride it solo so you know what's what and don't involve others with your pidding/learning. Be One With The Ride in this case means the Ride is the motorcycle itself.
At least, that's my thoughts on it. Won't matter where you ride then.

/[lawn, get off it]YOU![/crotchety old person]
//Even still, an anvil from an airplane overhead might drop on you.
///That'd suck a teensy bit, I imagine.
////Highly recommend a BRC at a good MSF place, if you've never ridden. Best thing to do, start out right.
/////I actually recommend one even if you NEVER plan on riding ever, because it teaches good stuff that applies to driving as well. Including how to operate a manual trans vehicle ab initio.

I agree, if I plan on stopping out and even having a single beer...I wont ride, I hardly ride at night, maybe some solo summer LATE night cruises. My car is MUCH safer for the nights, our if heaven forbid I get in a crash. Im a "fair weather" rider, and I dont really agree with the "learn alone" thing(I may not of took it the right way, no offence) but I know I want friends around me, help me up or wait with me if something breaks. But thats my opinion.

Gotta wear the gear, I'm simply saying that deer/wild animals are slightly less unpredictable that morons in traffic behind you, and they hurt worse than some idiot in their gigantic SUV running you over.
I'm a stickler for gear (plus it looks badass), so my riding season would be spring and fall, and some days through winter.
