Gas Prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3.17 here for the last 4-5 days, but it is interesting because there is a new QuickTrip that just opened down the street and they are starting a gas war. All the local towns/cities in the nearby area are at 3.17 (including most of St. Louis), except about 3 gas stations near the QT...they are at 2.79 and have been for about a week now. I know one of the owners of the stations and he is losing his a$$ selling gas below his cost. He is losing like $.15 on every gallon he sells at 2.79.
it amases me that the same tanker truck fills up all the local gas tanks at the stores yet the wavaho is 2;85 and the chevron is 3;05 and the conoco which is all american produced gas is 3;15
I finally filled up today! $3.05!
high gas prices
I`ve been watching Glenn Beck lately and last week a viewer e-mailed in a comment about why nobody was raising "Hxxx" about high gas prices and he answered you should be glad to pay $3.00 a gallon because one little hiccup in the middle east and you won`t be able to buy at any price.

well we have many alternate fuel sources out there....I've seen hydrogen, battery powered (my least favorite) combinations of gas and electric (been pretty successful) propane, I've seen hydraulic, fast food fryer grease driven vehicles. there are many out there, just none anyone likes, I personally like the hydrogen vehicle. they are supposed to be very efficient, and best of all, modable
they work for all intensive purposes exactly how a gas powered vehicle does, the injectors are very similar, the only thing different really is the tank design. so in my opinion, I would go to that one.....VW has one, and it is very very smooth running, and very quick at that. you can also supercharge/turbo these vehicles. but the oil companies are fighting as hard as possible to keep themselves in major business.....

Heard on the radio yesterday that our state of Washington has the second highest average gas prices in the country. Filled up yesterday at 3.45 for 87 oct. CAn't wait till the annual memorial day weekend price hike!
Read a prediction from Money magazine that $4 a gallon is just around the corner. Won't matter to me. I live 1.5 miles from work and frequently walk. And in three months I'm moving to Europe where I won't even have a car.
But these price increases are crazy. Anybody checked out the sales slump in SUV's lately? While I've never understood why anybody would buy one of these as opposed to a station wagon it's still bad news to any manufacturer still building them, and that's not good.

The rise of the SUV no doubt helped "fuel" the increased demand for gas in the US. I still won't feel sorry for the large truck/SUV drivers around here who use them as personal vehicles when gas gets to $4 and beyond. If anything, they'll just grumble but continue to pay - like the rest of the country.
AHHH!!!! $3.59 for 87 in South Bend, IN!!!!
$3.59?! I thought the $3.09 this morning was bad
