Average is over 3 bucks for 87
3.05 at one near school, and 3.15 by my house. Gets more expensive near big stores and malls.
But my station of preferance is at 2.87
people I know don't believe me, I don't know why its so low compared to other stations, but the gas is good, so I buy.

It's going down because greedy gas station owners senselessly jacked the prices up and the fact that the oil rigs and refineries are getting back online now.

It was $2.48 here before Katrina hit. I would be willing to bet we don't see it this low again. They were saying it would drop to around $2.35 after the "Driving Season" was over but now they are changing their story again.

Gas has been dropping about 2-3 cents a day here in Southeast Texas. The low end is around $2.63 and the high around $2.75. According to http://www.texasgasprices.com the lowest reported price in Texas overall is $2.47 and the highest is $2.84.

we win!(?) here's a site you can check out to make yourselves feel (a little/a lot) better - www.honolulugasprices.com (sorry, don't know how to use features to create link...) whatever. maybe you heard about our "gas cap" law. as i understand it, the prices are set weekly by our PUC and "limits" the maximum wholesale price/gallon of gasoline. however, the retailer is free to charge whatever they can at the pump. diesel is not covered under this law. there is about a 10 day lag from prices set on the U.S. mainland in the major market areas (west coast, gulf coast, and east coast) i'm really simplifying things here... so while your prices are dropping, ours are still high - it is even worse on the other islands (Kaua'i, Lana'i, Maui, Moloka'i, and Hawai'i). supposedly prices will drop next week. we'll see... a lot of people are complaining that the cap doesn't work. i don't care. i personally would like to see the law suspended and the price go even higher so all the people who are whining will shut up. our oil supply does not come from the persian gulf - it comes from asia (primarily Indonesia, i think). there are two refineries on Oahu one owned by chevron and tesoro, respectively. so even before our prices were tied to the US mainland market, they were already higher. one thing i know, once gas prices go up, they will never go down - we just get used to it (or start stealing it, according to some reports). just wanted to share my $2.00/gallon and let you know that compared to us, you are getting a screamin' deal as far as gas prices in the U.S. goes. aloha.
