If you look back at the series there are a lot of differences in how they get from point A-B but the result is the same or very similar.

I understand the hard job of satisfying all of the story within the confines of 10 episodes in the season.


It'll be interesting to see how they all play out in the coming seasons.
It also depends on how George plans to use characters in the future books.
If they have no real story or future, the writers will know this, and they may choose to veer off the path a bit and change the road.

I'm wondering if they're going to finish the series before the final two books are released. As it stands now they've only got one more season and they're out of material. It normally takes years for Martin to write a new book, so he might be able to release the next book before next season ends but the final season will have no material to work from.
