Hell yeah, the red priestess and all of the wannabe kings starting war. I just wish they would have shown more about the dragons. Oh and how about the end where they show Ned's daughter traveling with the kings bastard son, can't wait to see what comes of that

No, stupid me. I keep forgetting that HBO only makes shows from books and doesn't make anything original. How many books are there and I won't ask if the books are better because they always are, lol

I stumbled on the first book, read it and now I am hooked! I didn't know there was series until I was searching for the second book. I have the first season queued up in Netflix because we don't have HBO. I will watch the first season and then go and read the second book. It looks as though each season coincides with the book series?

Book are always better. lol
He just released the 5th book 'A Dance with Dragons' and I believe there is suppose to be two more yet to be released / written. I just read that one last year..
I think they ventured into the second book (on some of the character's story lines) in the first season, but it's been years sense I read the first 4 books.

My friend turned me on to the series because it sounded exactly like what Id always wanted to read: a low fantasy saga that kept you guessing, with a thousand subplots that all tie together; where one small event can have reverberations across the globe. I had started a similar style book long ago but ended up turning it into a game, now my side business, the Dungeons Deep RPG. But as I read each chapter of Martins' series, it was erie how similar the structure was, which is why I love it so much. So far, HBOs adaptation has been well done.

Sounds like its time for me to start searching for the books. I would much rather read the books than watch it, my imagination always does books more justice than Hollywood effects can
